  2. Plastic fender fasteners

I removed the fender liner to get access to the ESS battery. Along the outside edge of the fender a type of fastener is used that i was not familiar with. It looks like a plastic rivet. Searching the local auto stores I'm finding fasteners that look like they'd work, but I'm not sure. I dont...
  3. Operation Genesis was a huge success

Looking up NAPA batteries at my closest stores, it looks like they have 2 full size batteries in stock but the motorcycle battery is Out of Stock! For $100 i'd just as soon go ahead and replace it while i have this thing apart.
  4. Operation Genesis was a huge success

Thanks so much SP. Then I may go ahead and replace both at this time so I can do some more research. Thank you for your input, I'll be more critical of the setup till this fall. Is replacing both batts at this time a necessity in your opinion? Not just the main? Thank you again
  5. Operation Genesis was a huge success

What do y'all think about this? My battery is dead as of yesterday so i need to get something going tomorrow. I plan on doing the Genesis upgrade but not until it cools off a bit where i am, next to the sun, in AZ. I would like to get a battery tomorrow so i can get my Jeep back up and running...
  6. American Adventure Lab Overhead Molle with Bestop Sunrider

And I figured what the heck, a couple hero shots. The first one is Last Dollar Rd outside Telluride. The second one is where they filmed True Grit, the real one, not the 'remake'. aka: fake one. I love this top.

  8. American Adventure Lab Overhead Molle with Bestop Sunrider

Selfmod, oh yeah! A mallet was involved in my 'mod' also. I used a dremel and went through a couple little discs. Obviously, when working with plastic, it's a fine line between cutting and melting. The JCR is the rack I have also. https://www.jcroffroad.com/product/JLOMP-PC.html The AAL...
  9. American Adventure Lab Overhead Molle with Bestop Sunrider

I dont have the same overhead molle system you posted, I have one that only goes from the windshield to the hardtop. If i can find the mfg i'll post the link, i dont remember who's it is. I also have the Sunrider and the pair do work together. However, i did need to do a bit of 'modding' to...
  10. Bed Rack Tire Carrier

Thanks Dan. I dont think there is a 'light' 37, just some are 'less heavy'. This is a lot of rubber. Maybe this week i'll give it a try. I need to do it soon, the days are starting to heat up here in the desert. Need to plan my trips for SW CO. Thanks much
  11. Bed Rack Tire Carrier

I've got 37" Coopers and have been hauling the spare around in the bed. Have you, or anyone, ever seen a weight limit on what one can carry in the spare space? These 37's are freaking heavy. I've gone full old man, i'm 54, when it's time for rotation i take the truck to Discount and let them do...

  13. Metalworkers...cold bluing question

Good morning AR. Love your state. A buddy is getting back today from 2 weeks of mtn biking in the Bentonville area. Beautiful area. Because of the odd size and shape, and construction, i dont think dipping is an option. I wish I had the eqip to do so, that'd mean i have a killer shop...
  14. Metalworkers...cold bluing question

Thanks for your time angry. The 4 legs are 1-1/2" sq tubing, 33" tall. Really, that is majority of the mass. The top is square and make from flat stock, laid flat, 1-1/2"x 1/8". I'll have a shelf about 1/2 down for a few towels. I'm not sure how I'll make that. I may weld on a couple tabs and...
  15. Metalworkers...cold bluing question

I'm building a stand for a sink that will go in the guest bathroom. It's steel and i'm welding it, so it has to be finished after it's constructed. I was considering doing a patina on it, but not sure if that's the 'best' way to go. But, I don't know what is best, i've never done any bluing. I...
  16. Gladiator on a tight Black Bear Pass switchback. Drone footage.

We did BBP a week ago today, on Sept 27. We got some rain on the way down but nothing frozen. On Tues we were up at Alta Lakes, it started snowing moderately at around 11'000 ft. My bud and I were running around the San Juan's all week, once we got over to Ouray mid-week we had snow above...

Who here has updated their firmware? I did. I’ve had some odd things happen since i did this. I also am getting a Serv4WD lite and my swa-bar disconnect is now not avail. And when does this happen, on my yearly guy trip to the San Juans in CO. Made coming down Black Bear….interesting. I want...
