  1. Diesel Sport vs Rubicon

So for me I had to decide between a Rubicon V6 and a Willys diesel. Went back and forth a bit but went with the Willys diesel. I’ve only ever had Rubicons in the past but the reality is I just don’t wheel as much as I used to, maybe once a month (wish it was more). I can admit that Rubicon has a...
  2. Delivery day Diesel Sport …… meet DIXIE !!

Ah nice makes sense. Just looked at your profile and see you’re Greek. Spent 2 weeks in Greece just before pandemic and absolutely loved it. Nafplio was our ā€˜base’ and traveled all over. Beautiful country you have there!
  3. Score your Gladiator. How capable is the Gladiator with...

Technically speaking, extremely capable. But lots of variables depending on what kind of wheeling you do and proportionately what kind of terrain you’d consider would require a 5/5. Ie for me mine is 5/5 for wheeling I do but for Moab or extreme rock crawling it’s probably 2.5/5.
  4. Delivery day Diesel Sport …… meet DIXIE !!

Nice! Are they not putting the EcoDiesel badge on left side of tailgate anymore? FYI it took my diesel about 2k miles to fully break in. Enjoy!
  5. DEF tank only lasted ~2,800 miles per computer

I just went through the same thing last weekend at almost exactly 2,800 miles. No towing, no high altitude, no wheeling. It's not a huge deal but manual says should only be every 10,000 miles. Whatever, just bought 20 gallons worth at Home Depot for $73.
  6. First timer bottle and floor jack question for installing lift kit

Hey all, put in the leveling kit last night. Couple tough spots but no issues. Everything went smoothly. Took about 6 hours for me start to finish. Didn’t even need to loosen the control arms as the method of leaving axel low and extended frame up gave plenty of room to get springs out. Jeep...
  7. First timer bottle and floor jack question for installing lift kit

You guys are great. So you’re saying I could use just 2 all in one bottle jacks to complete this? Only have to do front. If I’m only doing one side at a time, I would lift front axle from the pumpkin, likely to full height, lock it then put second all in one locked on frame same side. Do...
  8. First timer bottle and floor jack question for installing lift kit

Thanks, some great points there. Curious, what was the issue with needing more room that your jack didn’t go high enough?
  9. First timer bottle and floor jack question for installing lift kit

Hey all, need some guidance here for how to correctly and safely jack and then drop front axle to put leveling pucks in front. From what I’ve gathered this is my plan: Use All-In-One bottle jack lift/stand on frame on both sides to jack up, lifting little by little alternating sides, and then...

  11. What did you do WITH your Gladiator today?

First long drive from NH seacoast to Montreal. Averaged 24.5 mpg with the diesel doing 75+ with 285/70s. Pretty impressed.
  12. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

Thanks man. I have a very low garage height of about 75ā€ so I had to choose between 35s and no lift or 33s and 1.5ā€ leveling kit. Happy with my choice and leveling kit isn’t even on yet.
  13. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

Those look great. DIY? They help with the road noise? One of my next projects.
  14. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

285/70R17 Duratracs installed. Everything stock. Putting in Teraflex 1.5ā€ leveling kit next week. Also removed ugly air dam plastic but kept the metal mounting plate as I think it looks pretty good and at least offers a bit of protection. Between bigger tires and removal of air dam, only went...

  17. WILLYS Edition Gladiator JT Club

Hey all, joining the club here. Traded in my JLUR for my Willys EcoDiesel and loving it. The diesel low end torque is no joke on this thing, wow! Was on the fence about getting another Rubi, but my handful of off road trips a year doesn't justify all the equipment extras, although nice to...
