Sorry man, was really looking forward to watching this build. I miss my days of buying older jeeps and fixing them up. Maybe when my little guys is close to driving age I'll make that his first vehicle .
I've considered going to a JL on a short lease and waiting, because of the slow process Jeep has taken. I bought a new ram 1500 a few years ago because I needed Towing and a bed .so far I've towed like 3 times in 2 years, bed comes in handy for hauling hay, but I miss my Jeep. Had 3 before...
I thought the same, about just abusing it the odd time .in my case, the majority of Towing would be bales of Hay, 2 bales at a time on a trailer, pushing 4000lbs with the trailer, and a 2 horse trailer with 1 horse, right at around 4500 .it's the odd time I throw a second horse in the trailer...
I agree, I was hoping manual would have higher tow capacity. Do I go with the transmission I want and minimum Towing I need, or the auto I need with the max Towing I want .
But like mentioned above, it's finally a Jeep truck, so can't really complain .I'll be enjoying a cruise with the top...
Is that also part of the reason why a manual transmission tows so much less than auto? I'm buying this truck for sure, but was happy to be going back to driving stick before I saw the tow difference. I wanted at least 5000 lbs for horses and hay.
