  1. LSD Equipped Gladiators Better Than Rubicon in Snow ?

I don't have experience comparing the two options specifically in the Gladiator, but I have had both an auto locking LSD (chevy) and a manual e-locker (ford). The general engagement/usefulness of the LSD in day-to-day and inclement weather was missed with the ford. I never really needed to...
  2. Max Tow Package. Not the value you would think?

Worth posting, but I had never really looked at the Altitude Trim, but apparently when adding the Max Tow there, on a fully optioned hard top the price difference between a Rubi/Mojave and the Altitude Max Tow grows to almost $7k. Odd to me that when configuring an equivalently nicely spec'd...
  3. Official: Hurricane Twin-Turbo 3.0 I-6 Coming for Jeep With Over 500 HP and 475 ft-lbs!

I expect this engine to make it into the JL, but not right off the bat. With only the Mexico plant confirmed producing this engine at first and with 250k a year once fully ramped up, I expect them to start with Wagoneers and then Grand Cherokees for Jeeps and probably the Ram 1500 next (can see...
  4. Max Tow Package. Not the value you would think?

Good point! Need to work on that a bit myself... The payload conundrum is interesting for sure. But the way I see it, with a Gladiator I am not really going to use it as a 'work' truck. As I think about it today and what I have coming up, I don't see myself getting a bucket of gravel, or...
  5. Max Tow Package. Not the value you would think?

I get the notion of not wanting to spend an extras $7k plus, but assuming one was interested in the bigger touch screen, decent sound system, proximity door locks, etc. (as I am) the difference is far less and much less of a value. Also on payload, @250lbs a piece, you and your friends need to...
  6. Max Tow Package. Not the value you would think?

That seems like a super high estimate, but kind of goes to my point. The bare bones Wranglers and Gladiators just look 'off' without swapping out the tires. Jeep clearly only puts out the Sport/Sport S tire sizes to minimize their CAFE ratings hit and push people into the Rubicon/Mojave . Even...
  7. Max Tow Package. Not the value you would think?

My point here, is that you HAVE to get the body colored flares with the LED package for some reason. I prefer the fender flares that match the black hard top - and Not trying to get into the weeds of those that will go BIGGER than 33-35" tires. Rubi/Mojave already come with the 33s and 35s...
  8. Max Tow Package. Not the value you would think?

I am not arguing that you cannot 'legally' change your payload with springs. I being honest that no one will know one way or the other ... unless the rear end is sagging down to the bump stops and someone is operating well outside the recommended parameters ... and would advocate that everyone...
  9. Max Tow Package. Not the value you would think?

I understand what you are technically saying (more than you know), but that doesn't mean you are practically right. The chances of running afoul even with 500 lbs over, is well, not much and you know this. Or should I say, should know this? Saw this post of your's in the Post your payload pics...
  10. Max Tow Package. Not the value you would think?

I am not trashing on Max Tow owners. I am wondering if Jeep's slow creep of price increases since I have started following have hit the 'middle trims' the most and eroded the value of the Max Tow (at least in a decently equipped Sport S configuration - see above for rundown of the 'minimal'...
  11. Max Tow Package. Not the value you would think?

I have seen your build, and was leaning strong for Max Tow with the Freedom Trim when that was available (really good value there last year I think). It seems that the recent price increases have really hit a well optioned Spot S Max Tow pretty hard eroding the value proposition.
  12. Max Tow Package. Not the value you would think?

    Noted. Updated in original post.
  13. Max Tow Package. Not the value you would think?

Payload to me is the bigger concern, as you point out. In theory, it would be a lot easier to just add rear max tow springs to a Mojave and gain back some of that comfort of more payload (or at least maxed out within the limits). On your last point - that is purely what is listed on the door...
  14. Max Tow Package. Not the value you would think?

Not sure what you are trying to reference in that link. You may be right on the Rubi vs Sport S steering wheel, thought they were different - but hence the post and questions. It is not so easy to walk onto a dealership lot and compare the different options these days. Door cards are a term...
  15. Max Tow Package. Not the value you would think?

I think the 4.10 gearing is a big driver of the comparison here with the 3.6 and likelihood that I (and most other Max Tow owners) get tires bigger than come stock on the Sport / Sport S stock. Agreed on Rubicon over Mojave if the towing aspect was main consideration (only really sacrificing...
  16. Max Tow Package. Not the value you would think?

While playing around with the current Build & Price (I know this isn't 100% accurate - but good enough for this discussion) I wanted to get reactions and thoughts to some observations and questions. Honestly, I am still trying to settle on the specs for a custom order and this post is not meant...
  17. Off Road Plus and Sand, Mud, Snow, Water, Gravel

Does anyone know if the offroad + could be used while in 4A on a selec-trac equipped transfer case?
  18. EARL GREY Gladiator JT club

While looking at some press pictures of the Compass the below pictures look promising. Particularly the Upland 4xe press release with the blacked out features.
  19. Intro - Decisions and Waiting...

Love hearing that a former GTI owner is having MORE fun driving the JT!
