I was doing some testing with them but had fitment issues due to my ARB bumper — so down the rabbit hole I went…
I’ve only prototyped 2 of these with the purpose of handing the cad off to BPD — you’d probably get some response if you ask them about it… I have no intention of doing production...
Added a mesh ABS screen to help protect the little guy — will eventually end up making something more refined in the future but this will probably help a bit till I am able to get around to doing so.
One more interesting thing about the BPD Aux. Cooler — the antifreeze seems to always be circulating regardless of temperature. So it appears to bypass the thermostat altogether.
The radiator alone will probably help, but the darn thing is buried so deep in the stack and has undersized dimensions… not to mention it really has some serious fitment issues.
You’d probably get a better return with the supplemental BPD cooler than the radiator because it eats up some of the...
Well, that actually went really great.
I maintained between 50-70 mph the entire ascent up the grade. Prior experience with less weight would have me in that super exciting 35-45 mph range, so yeah, I think I can keep the truck now
I never had a derate, but totally could have if I pushed it…...
Got it in yesterday—it was a complete nightmare.
The radiator is a friggen pig.
The wraparound intercooler bellows make slight contact with the sides of the unit which is concerning but there’s nothing else to do about it as they literally left zero clearance.
I’d definitely recommend...
The lip surrounding the opening is there to nest a mesh screen or block off plate for use in cold weather — so that feature is definitely possible as a simple add-on.
Just installed one — primary reason for doing so was cooling.
Really didn’t like the look of it when I first saw the introduction photos.
Kinda taken aback by how much better it looks in person.
Buttoning up the prototype install…
Also installing the larger Mishimoto radiator and 2024 grill to catch as much air as possible.
I’ll be towing a 6000lb trailer and full bed of cargo up grapevine on I-5 this weekend…
Have no idea how this will play out, but I’ve just about done everything...
If you look at the opening on the cooler housing, you’ll notice a recessed edge.
That feature is there to nest a block off plate for use during cold weather/muddy operation or an optional protection grid insert.
There may also be a new skid plate available soon for the new cooler that will work with the electric sway bar and steel bumpers — first prototypes are expected to be ready soon.
3.5 metal cloak with AEV high capacity springs/fox 3.5 adjustable remote reservoir shocks on 35” Falken Wildpeak tires.
works great so long as it has weight in the back.
we typically carry a lot onboard and tow frequently…. however, the ride is terrible if it is unloaded — these springs are...
I heard that MSA (Aussie based) is looking into the possibility of making a version of their mirrors for the North American JL/JT.
I think their design would be a really good fit on our trucks if they get their interface design right.
?
Totally lost a sentence there… apologies.
Yes, we use the BlueOX SwayPro and it does an amazing job keeping things level and preventing sway while still being incredibly flexible and plush.
A lot of weight distribution designs on the market do an excellent job at leveling the vehicle but...
I’m towing a 23’ Airstream fully loaded/wet (about 6,000LB) while also carrying about 600lb in the truck bed.
Tires are 35”, metal cloak 3.5 lift with AEV 3.0” high capacity springs/Fox adjustable 2.5” shocks.
Have had no issues over the past couple of months — pulls strong up grades and...
