  1. Update: Jeep Reveals V8 Wrangler Rubicon 392 Concept With Hemi

I had a Dakota, and opted for the V6 instead of the V8, as most of my driving is on country roads, not fast freeways. If a V8 had been an option, think I still would have gotten the Penstar V6, plenty of power, even for towing. cheers
  2. Bed Plugs

I would put the plugs back in, the LineS installer may have just forgot to do so. cheers
  3. Max Tow Group Now Available On Jeep.com Build & Price Tool

The 8-speed Auto tranny is better for towing anyway, more torque. cheers
  4. Max Tow Group Now Available On Jeep.com Build & Price Tool

  5. Why did you buy your Gladiator?

Bill, did you ever add the max tow springs to your JT? If so, how did they work out? I have ordered the MaxTow sori gs and shocks to put on my Sport S JT, as I was getting some up/down bounce when hauling heavier trailers (400-450 lbs tongue weigh). cheers
  6. Where should we BE ABLE to mount side mirrors ?

The JKU mirror and hinge bracket is a nice solution for going doorless. cheers
  7. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

Thanks, they look nice, and have a CJ look to them. Do the stock fender liners work with them? cheers
  8. GVWR

The rear Axle, Springs, rear shocks on the Sport S and Spoet S max tow are different, as is the axle/rear brakes and gear ratio (4:10 On Max Tow), all of which add to increased towing capacity. The Axles and springs/shocks add increased cargo capacity/ tongue weight rating. I do not need the...
  9. Cheapest way to get power windows? Sport vs. Sport S. 7" vs 8.4" screen?

You need to get the Sport S, which is the lowest trim level to allow power windows. cheers
  10. Just heard Diesel Gladiator can be ordered

Here is what the new Jeep Ecco-Diesel looks like, this is on the new Wrangler, but same engine setup in the Gladiator:
  11. My Gladiator is the most polarizing vehicle I’ve ever owned.

I could see the Gladiator being used by a job-site foreman checking work progress in a remote location, where 4-wheel drive and a narrow vehicle would be best. i had my Jeep on a remote worksite the second week I owned it, using it to haul a reel of heavy cable to a remote job site, and pulling...
  12. Rubicon to Sport S suspension swap

The MaxTow rear springs are a different part from a stock Sport S rear spring, and adifferent part number. Plus, they are a Progressive style spring, that gets stiffer when loaded, to keep the truck level when the trailer tongue weight starts to exceed 300-400 lbs. On up year Stock Sport S, a...
  13. Gladiator fuel overflowing.

Deoends on the gas pumps, they do not all operate at the same speed. i am not saying this is normal behavio, just what I have observed on two California. Jeep vehicles. I had a Dakota, which would get some gas nozzles stuck in the gas fill tube, had to take, the gas door off to release the...
  14. Gladiator fuel overflowing.

Yes, very simple, you are pumping the gas too fast, insert the gas nozzle down to where it seats and stays in place, then lift the pump lever to the first notch, and let the pump slowly Add the gas. Did this with both the Renegade and my Gladiator. Problem solved, no overspills, you need to...
  15. Grommet/Gasket for tailgate center hole

Count me in, I will take one also, thanks. cheers
  16. Shifting Issue into 4WD

You can also get in 4x4H just slightly rolling, you do not want to have power to the wheels, when shifting, foot off the gas pedal. To get to 4x4L you need main transmission in N, again slightly rolling helps, but not required, then sift into 4L, then shift main trans back into gear. No issue...
  17. "I didn't know Jeep made a pickup"

To me, the new Ram 1/2 ton trucks look more like a SUV, than a truck, inside and out! I started driving trucks in the 60’s (54 Chevy 1/2 ton) and later Dodges in the 70s for work, while they were more comfortable on dirt or poorly paved back roads than the sedans the county was using, they...
  18. Didn't know all Gladiators are registered as commercial vehicles

Pick up trucks used to be able to have a regular non commercial registration, if being used for non commercial transportation, i.e have a camper on the back, or an empty bed. But as soon as you want to haul any cargo in the open bed, you need to have a commercial tag, or get a ticket for...
