My point was more about reasons for changing to meet newer standards. I will just continue use a quality oil and change it every 5K and call it a day.

If only our resident Cliff would stop pontificating Ha... but then again there would be less to laugh at.

I read some time ago the switch to 0w20 was for CAFE standards. I also read in an old 2012 manual that 5W-30 Chrysler Material Standard MS-6395 was the recommended oil. Just some food for thought. 🍿

Looks like you have not had any luck in this post. I am in Daly City myself and have started to look at some of the clubs listed on the Cal 4x4 website. Most clubs are to far away. I have reached out to SF Jeepers... thinking of going to Hollister and checking that out.

Just wanted to close this out by saying I had a blast. Ended up earning 5 Jeep Badges. I have posted photos in the trip section on the forum. Looking forward to next year.

This was out last full day so we decided on a scenic trail and then head to the expo. Easter Jeep Safari was awesome experience. We meet lots of great folks and learn a ton about going off-road. We earned 5 Jeep Badges on this trip so that was a great bonus. I am looing forward to EJS in 2026...

Another great trail run. My son decided we should solo this one and I am glad we did. We ended up meeting the Qwaaazy 8s on the trail and again at the Moab Cafe. This iconic trail had epic views that did not disappoint.
