  1. So, is the tailgate of the Gladiator NOT metal?

Oh I got a sport hood. Its aluminium. Maybe 1/3 the Mojave hood.
  2. My 2022 Gladiator burned down... how?

What is the states tax valuation on the vehicle? And yes insurance companies will use the lowest priced gladiator as a reference. Have your dealer put a value on it. You have to make them find a same year same mileage same condition comparison. Good to know about Allstate too.
  3. Mojave Gas Mileage

I had a 1987 mercedes 190e-16, the Cosworth engined 190. When I dove back from picking it up in Arizona I though I had spaced out and missed a fillup. It was getting 34mpg at 80+! That car could cruse at 130 all day. We have not come all that far since then...
  4. Has anyone disabled telematics / LTE and GPS antennas?

In the US surveillance oversight and accountability is a joke which is why people are rightly concerned. One of the most valuable data streams are movement. Even if your truck does not connect its announcing its presence to all towers and that data is retained. Our license plates are scanned...
  5. Mojave Gas Mileage

I figure a bed cover is one of the few that at least breaks even. Anyone have experience with a softtopper type bed topper on mpg?
  6. Mojave Gas Mileage

True but then who needs octane on a NA car a mile high :)
  7. 317 miles of MOAB trails have been closed [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

The Moab area is crazy fragile for sure and damage remains visible for years. So I say, if they are going to restrict it. restrict to hikers and bicycles too so it can recover faster. >> SHARED SACRIFICE <<
  8. Mojave Gas Mileage

18.5 is what I get in CT but this is 6spd. I added a bed cover and averaged 19.5 at 75-80 Colorado to Texas recently. The bed cover did not make much mpg difference at 8k altitude but I definitely noticed the improvement at lower altitude. Ill mention at 8k feet I routinely get 22mpg at 65...
  9. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

Its good to make that distinction. Mine did much improve after 4k or so. Never had a clutch take that long to bed in before.
  10. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

I agree that nearly all of these are user induced however, based on my experience the easy stall low torque dual-mess setup combined with the long mushy break-in period exacerbates clutch abuse. I still firmly standby my theory that the dual-mass makes stalling far more likely and stall...
  11. Flummoxed by Serpentine Belt Replacement

At 65K I figure its time to swap out the serpentine belt. You would think there would be a ton of videos and diagrams for the Gladiator by now but no. Even a belt diagram is hard to find! So Im going to resurrect this thread. If anyone has info on this please post. Ill post my experience...
  12. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

Good point. its almost like they used the automatic tuning and just swapped in a MT. A nice 8spd sequential on the Mojave would be appreciated too!
  13. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

Thanks for the response on dual-mess. I bought this Mojave JT new and broke in the clutch carefully(tedious). I have a manual MJ 4.0 for reference. There is a difference in the WAY these to setups stall. The JT seems to stall abruptly without warning whereas the MJ you can feel the engine...
  14. JT/JL Clutch and Flywheel explained by ACT

In an ACT videos I noticed two different flywheels available. Has anyone tested the lighter one yet? My stock clutch at 58K is fine but the dual mass flywheel has got to go. One of the ACT videos clamps the flywheel/clutch in a lathe and demonstrates it rather well. For a truck, the...
  15. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

58K zero issues pulling trailers over mountains all the time and rocky trails a few times a year. HOWEVER, a 1500-2000mi TLC breakin was needed. The clutch is now really excellent. Pedal is light and engagement precise. Never overheats even rock crawling or backing trailer up the drive...
  16. Making a quieter truck, where to start?

Just don't forget your wearing them if you get pulled over.
  17. Has anyone disabled telematics / LTE and GPS antennas?

Ha, tin foil parabolic reflector focused on your brain.
  18. 2024 Jeep Gladiator debuts with new grille, interior, more options and upper trim levels

The real question is have they improved the back seat and door nets!
  19. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

58k on the Mojave clutch. Moderate trail use but lots of trailer pulling. Did take about 2500 miles to bed in.
