ESC is what I meant. Really the #1 issue is slow response when letting off. This this is a hoot offroad
but with ESC off you really need crisp throttle to take advantage of the chassis (Mojave) and its just not there. Its detracting from an otherwise excellent platform.
Id like ESC off to...
I probably should clarify what I mean by throttle response.
Its not mash it down and see how long it takes to light up the tires.
Its response to on off on changes. The manual transmission highlites
the poor response. The engine takes a moment to drop revs when
shifting or with ESS off its...
It does ok for autos. The MT just needs faster response. Shut off ESS on gravel and let me know your thoughts. I find its like driving an early 80s turbo.
Whats the actual reason the 3.6 JT has poor throttle response?
Slow throttle servo motor response ? ECU signal or processing speed?
When ESS is off the response is just too slow to manage well.
The pedal signal modifiers seem more of a work around.
Its not completely obvious at first glance but essenially 2-3 syncros are on the larger of the gear pairs which reduces the mechanical advantage the syncro friction sees. When clutch is deperessd this syncro has to deal with the entire layshaft PLUS all the gear sets that are just messed but...
Sure I love to see them. 2cnd always takes a beating with these "all syncrons on one shaft" designs but then again we are not speed shiftn it either. Are we??
The devil is in the details no doubt. Just like live axle suspention DMF has plenty of paramters that can make a huge difference. I for one believe the design favors making it easy on the ASS hardware and driveability was second. Tough design choices with big consequences.
Another point is...
Maybe. I tend to think of DMF as the worst of both worlds. You get the easy stall of a super light flywheel ( like my 7" clutch aluminium track car) and the sluggish mass of a solid flywheel. Note that when aftermarket flywheels are fitted the trucks idle about with clutch fully engaged without...
It's got a tee and check valve to the intake like the old days. I think the pump is to ensure vacuum is maintained during the stop part of the start/stop although I try to remember to disable it.
I wonder what other doodads these have. There is an electic power steering pump somewhere.
Nice looking set. Choice of discs too. Curious how do your two discs rotational intertia compare to the stock twin plate setup? Im thinking syncro stesses here.
The interweb sez:
DieHard batteries are manufactured by Clarios LLC. In 2019, Clarios took over Johnson Controls, the makers of Duralast. That same year, Advance Auto Parts acquired DieHard. Today, Clarios manufactures most battery brands in the United States. So Duralast and DieHard now come...
