Glad I heald off on these. The customized blades were my first concern since a few swipes across a frosty window will ruin most blades.
Speaking of blades a friend said he found AC Delco blades are significantly better than the typical Bosch, Trico, Anco etc that seem like the only choices at...
My Mojave steering stabilizer/damper failed during -19 deg F. It started leaking and a couple of days later in warmer weather server shimmy/DW started occuring for the firt time ever. It was severe enough that I was forced to pull of the road or risk hitting oncoming traffic.

By clamp down I meant the brakes. Yeah the transfer case in my Jk and 2000 GC is either locked or open. But no vacuum, all done with the lever. And, on the JK at least, no brake clamping. Unless you do it your self :)
But the choice of open diff vs locked diff (xfer diff) is what I am after...
Lets say someone fits the old school mechanical selec-trac to the JT. In 4wd full-time mode would the ECU even know? As it is with part-time it clamps down on a spinning wheel. Seems like might work .
I have 35k on my clutch. The clutch itself is excellent. Its he dual mass flywheel design which tends to cause stalling at low rpm. Because its part of the clutch assembly getting rid of that means you loose the sweet double disc clutch sadly.
Absolutely! A 2dr Gladiator would be sweet. Id have to remove the passenger seat to make room for the dog though. But such sacrifices would be a small price to pay :)

I wonder if there is a quality control issue with some of the bal joints. It does not take all that much force to overcome the spring loading and deflect the ones on my truck. Removing the damper will allow shimmy leading into DW.
High speed internet introduces opportunities just like electricity and railroads. Some will take advantage of it others not so much.
Plenty of businesses only need internet connectivity. And lots lots of people would be happy ditching the nightmare of large city traffic for smaller towns if...
Some sort of national internet system that ensures even the most remote areas have gig connectivity would sure payoff.
The return on investment in this area would be incalculable as there are so many great rural areas that would flourish with affordable fiber connectivity.
How would selective lockup be MORE efficient than a clutch that by definition is locked up?
The higher OD may actually be a detriment as the auto is constantly hopping between 6,7.8.
Then there are the pump, clutches and bands all contributing a bit of drag in the auto compared to a MT...
