I started out as a mountain biker, then all of my riding buddies got married, bought houses and had kids. I was too much of an idiot on the bike to ride in the woods alone safely, and this was before all the FB riding goups. Then I became a roadie. Different times, different relationships and I...
I never got too much into the Doppelbocks.
Funny story. Young, naive and not a big drinker when I first got to Germany. My brother calls me and asks how I am doing. I said, "Great! I love German beers, drinking a Heineken right now." Then he informed me that Heineken isn't German.
I am looking forward to a big snowfall Winter. I've got my eye on a new snowboard, already have a season pass for "the local mountain" , getting the Ikon pass and taking a trip to Big Sky in January. Bring on the snow!!!!
Damn, you beat me to Death Wish! When ever I am in the store, that's all I buy. My gf on the other hand refueses to pay that much for it. I used to play poker with one of the guys that started it and I was hanging with him at the Super Bowl when they won the commetcial.
When I first picked up my JTR used my old hitch mount to carry my bikes, hated it.
Decided I wanted to carry them above the bed. Love it! Out of the way of distracted drivers and I can still use the bed for bike tools, chairs and what ever.
The rack also helps out with mountain bike camping...
The crossbars really aren't that bad over the bed. I have a rolling tonneau cover and can still roll it up with the bars attached. If I needed to put larger items in the bed, I only have to remove 4 bolts then the cross bars and bike racks come right off.
I installed the Mopar controller this year and have had zero issuses with it. Install was like a yoga session, but I am happy with it. I dont miss the 12V because I plugged converter into the 120V outlet in the rear and use that for the back up camera on my travel trailer.
Kuat has a Gladiator in the promo video for their new $1400 hitch mount.
Its expensive as hell, but it's about time somebody put tail lights on a these big ass bike racks. My Kuat completely blocked the tail lights on my Focus ST, when it was folded up.
I have towed the trailer several times now and I am getting a lot more confortable with it. Last week we towed from NY to VT and took the back roads all the way there, and I did not notice too much bounce. Since the first time I towed, I am grabbing an extra link on the WDH and I think that has...
One of my co-workers is the President of the Adirondack Jeep Club. He's been cutting the trails at Killington for this event.
I went to the Lake George Jeep invasion a few weeks ago. That was a blast.
New York, Penn, Maryland, Delaware, West Va, VA, NC, SC, Mass, CT, VT, NH, Maine.
July 1 will be one year of ownership and I will have 20K miles by then.
I purchased the JT with the sole purpose of towing a TT. We like to mountain bike and hike. The group we go out with always stays for the weekend. I got my gf in tent twice last year and she said No more.
There are other options. Last year we used Outdoorsy.com a couple of times to rent...
