I have fobs everywhere, what have I done creating so many options? :CWL:
We're getting super close. We printed a bunch of different colors to validate colors and capture photos. Our beta team (you know who you are ;)) will get the first production fobs very soon. Then it's game on..... We may...
Wait, this is a great idea! Why didn't I think of it? :CWL:
Nah, we'll be in line with alternative solutions. Truth is, this is a passion project and something we are having a ton of fun with. I truly hope we'll be able to bring joy by miniatiarizing the fobs for many!
If nothing else...
I believe you are referencing Mopar King, he had the Hamburger SC and recently went Hemi swap. Also having a SC, I get why he went swap and I am a bit envious for the same reasons. I couldn't justify that type of investment in the Jeep. The SC scratched enough of the itch for me, although it...
We are getting much closer. Our design is virtually locked. We will launch with two variants. Future additions may include a water-resistant version, based on demand.
The two launch versions are sized similarly, one is the smallest size possible, while the other is a bit larger to accommodate...
We're putting together a website for fob customization & ordering. I am hoping to go live by the end of January. We are also optimizing the designs and will launch a few different versions. More to come!
I have been playing with some keyring adapters for the key and we will offer a solution for the key. I expect we'll roll out the fob for sale in Jan. I can't wait for the beta feedback, the beta fobs are shipping tomorrow.
We are able to add the colored icons for the buttons of any of the versions. All of the versions will be made from Nylon PA12, the color versions are produced with a PA12 which is a bit more flexible.
We had a little fun with designs over the weekend, these won't appeal to everyone and are meant to show a few possibilities with color & design. We have 0, 3, and 4 button versions shown here. Beta fobs are going out by Wednesday of this week. For simplicity, the beta versions will be black...
The beta units are going out this week to the beta testers. We have been tweaking the design to provide the best button response possible. The panic button requires more force than the other buttons. This should eliminate accidental alarm activation.
We should be ready to go live with the...
@Lucky1 and other beta respondants. There was a very strong response to the beta invitation, more than anticipated. I sent an email to all who registered this morning. Another update will come this weekend. Please message me if you didn't receive an email from [email protected]
The transponder chip is not necessary to start the jeep. Its essentially a passive RFID chip in the event the fob battery fails. Since the RFID is passive it requires very close proximity to the sensor.
The jeep will start with just one or the other.
I am looking for up to 10 beta testers. We've gone through several iterations with improvements being made based on my use. The photos below show the current version I have been using and the renders show the next generation I expect to have Monday.
Beta units should be ready by Monday...
I haven't had mine long enough to comment. The capacity of the CR2450 battery is more than double the other smart key fobs I have. I suspect the battery will last as long as the GC smart fob.
There is a better way to design the assembly than what's done with the AJT, even if it's just for...
