The picture may not be the best. It's bubbling just like my tailgate, BUT, the hood was clean 6 months ago.
I'm considering waiting to see if more pops up. I still have almost 2 years left before the 5 year warranty limit.
I also owned a 1993 Chevy Silverado that had the paint flaking on the hood. It was a maroon color, which I don't know if that made a difference, but I see trucks of that year range of different colors that have no paint issues.

I've got some on the bottom of my tailgate. Getting ready to take it in and start the process. I've got a pretty good dealer, so we'll see how it goes.
Loved my 1993 Chevy Silverado (except the crappy transmission they put in it, rebuilt 3 times). Had almost 300,000 miles on that 5.0 before giving it to my SIL.
Pulling the F42 fuse just forces the startup test to look at the Main Battery instead of the Aux Battery.
I just followed what I read here, (dangerous I know), but it's working.
The aux battery is there (in my understanding) to stabilize the computer electronics during a stop/start event, (although many other vehicles do it with only one battery).
If you don't use, and/or have disabled the stop/start "feature" not having the aux battery is fine, although I can't speak...
