After two weeks, I got a nightmare of a Jeep back from the dealer. Wondering if they've ruined the hood and tailgate and they "weren't able to see" any corrosion on the door hinges. It also shows the hood isn't closed and the service manager told me they didn't see any codes for the ABS / Wheel Speed sensor even though below is what the dash looked like when I got the Jeep back. The color match is horrible. It's like a mustard brown instead of Gator Green and it has all kinds of divots and debris in the paint. The hood looks almost like they put it on too thick and it ran. Also, when I opened the hood, the hood prop came crashing down because they broke the clip that holds it up.

UNACCEPTABLE. That's the only word I can give it.
I did better painting cars when I was in high school.
No excuse for the debris in that paint - really poor prep and/or sprayed in an open bay with crap in the air..

I just got mine back this week as well and the body shop the Jeep dealership sent it to did a great job. What you got back is totally unacceptable. Take it back.

At least around me dealerships do not have their own body shop departments anymore and sub it out to a third party body/collision center. Your dealership needs to make that right. The fact the dealership gave you back this truck means they didn’t inspect it after the work was completed or they just don’t care. They probably don’t make much on this and just want it out of the way.

That's funny you say that, cause I emailed the GM and pointed out my Mopar color match spray can bumper paint job puts their's to shame. I feel like it's a good sign that he emailed me back same day and CC'd their head of service and head of collision and said we will make it right, I just don't trust that they have the skillset to do so at this point. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Small town woes! I should have taken it into Atlanta, but I took it to the closest dealer with a collision center (still an hour and 10 minute drive each way).

I had to reread your post. I thought I was looking at pre-repair corrosion. It is pretty bad. It should have been factory-backed warranty work, so it would've been no cost to the body shop or dealer. In fact, they would've made money. I would ask for a copy of the repair order to see exactly what they replaced and painted. Sorry to hear that you're going through this.

Warranty work pays less than other work.

Yeah man. And, the gun was a little too close when cleared.

Damn. I'm more worried about bringing mine in now.
The paint bubbles are the only issue I've had in the 3 years of ownership.

I was down to just a few weeks left on my paint warranty when the hood bubbled up. The tailgate has been bubbling for a few years now. I'd put it off as long as I could because of the posts I'd seen on it. 😬
