Funny. I'm in PHX and I haven't experienced any of this derating in my JTRD. Interestingly my other commuter car with a small turbo derates all the time in the summer. It's freaking hot here. Of course cars are going to get hot. So much negativity re:. The diesel .
Curious about cleaning these wheels. Seems difficult with all the bolts, intricate patterns, etc. Love the look. Black Rhino makes some interesting wheels.
I know I would be pissed in your situation. But this sounds like another dealership screw up. I get it that cars break from time to time, but come on dealerships ...... go the extra mile to help a buyer of your product during those rare times of mechanical issues.
It's not the Jeep. It's the...
When I went to purchase my JTRD .... I 1st went to the dealership that was closest to my home hoping to buy it there and develop some type of good relationship for future service. Well. The salespeople there were assholes lying about how they had to raise all the fees due to the shortages...
I didn't read all 4 pages, but .........
I just picked up my new Rubicon diesel.
The answer to your question is...... it depends.
If the JT is your only vehicle. A daily driver. Then probably not. Obvously there have been many reports on here re: cooling issues, derating, towing issues...
Just wanted to update my original post. I picked up my new JTRD last sat. Had the dealership install the 2 in Mopar lift along with a front 3/4 spacer. For the 1st time in my car buying life .... I went ahead and purchased an extended warranty (7 years) for around $2500. I plan on keeping...
I just picked up my brand new ordered JTRD last night :). Before picking it up ... I had the dealership install the 2 in mopar lift along and a front 3/4 inch leveling spacer. I am beyond happy. The lift seems a little taller than 2 inches.
I also went ahead and purchased an extended 7...
I had an older 4X4 Ram with the 360 CI motor. Used to tow a boat to Lake Powell in the summer time. That truck would overheat every time on the uphill climbs and with the A/C on. So .... to the unhappiness of my family ... I would always turn the A/C off and turn the heat on to cool the...
Some times we forget that the 3 liter turbo diesel is really a very small motor with relatively low horsepower. The JT is not a light vehicle. Add towing, steep inclines and hot weather .... and you maybe asking for alot from that little 3 liter.
As for the OP. Maybe you do need a different...
That's the difference. A business write-off. I've leased many cars through my practice. According to my acct .... a lease is simpler to write off as opposed to calculating depreciation, mileage, maintenance, etc. etc. on a purchased asset (car/truck).
I wanted to stay local as I live in Scottsdale, AZ. I ordered a fully loaded JTRD from Renate Steinbach @ Chapman Jeep in Scottsdale. 5% below invoice including the 1% tread lightly. Pretty simple process. She is the general sales manager .... so no BS.
Ordered it 4 weeks ago. Just got...
Looking at your signature .... looks like you made your decision. I also have a JTRD on order. Diesels are amazing. I used to have a F350 4X4 turbo diesel. LOVED that truck. Effortless power. I swore that if I ever bought another truck ..... it would have to be a diesel.
I'm well aware of these heat soak issues with turbos. But all this talk about having to pull over and cool the JTRD is a little disconcerting. We'll see. My ordered JTRD should be here in a month. Hopefully.
It was on my order build sheet. $8 for 3.5 additional gallons of diesel. $9 for 4 additional gallons of gas. I ordered a DIESEL. Pretty sure I do not need the gas.
