My service manager printed off the instruction sheet for pan removal and I had asked him about the āone time useā bolts. He said the sheet says to use ānewā bolts but they often reuse the same ones with no issue. As ShadowsPapa said, theyāre ferrous metal -steel. (Thanks Billš)
Honestly, 89 in...
Hereās the reason several of us, NOW, use and rely on oil analysis reports to tell us not only the condition of the oil but it also shows us the health state of the component weāre checking. If we know thereās a problem, like in my case, (I can speak about it and get the facts right at the same...
You again didnāt pay attention to the facts so you should not mislead as you do so well. You are an FCA āyes manā insider and just like you, the very best of the FCA investigation team who was ordered to investigate what happened with my transmission deliberately and intentionally refused to...
Stop posting misleading comments and Iāll stop being upset and calling you on it. You feel like handing out Valium, start with @ShadowsPapa who gets more bent out of shape with most everyone and has no problem or shame in delivering, he just forgot to straighten you out.
If we extensively went...
Then donāt make a false statement about the guy in the video you didnāt watch, donāt bother to even take away any of the good points he had to say and I didnāt ālearnā flushing was a bad idea, it didnāt destroy my transmission and yes, the dealership knew in advance I was getting the flush done...
So Bill, after actually having some time to reread, several times what you said and rewatching that video 2 more times, you posted a bullshit post which suckered two others to give you a āthumbs upā liking to it, which if the two of them carefully watched that video, they will agree with me and...
My best advice would be to get an oil analysis. The lab will show how the wear metals are doing, maybe they will even highlight a problem and offer suggestions. You can post the analysis report here and can take suggestions.
Be nice Bill. Maybe I should clarify my point, here it isā¦
DONT flush it, just be happy to do a pan drop. DONT add on a gazzilion miles before entertaining the idea of doing your first pan drop. DONT think the fluid needs to get real old before entertaining the idea of doing the first pan drop...
So, guess whatā¦in that video, the guy does a great job of explaining the importance of changing the tranny fluid because āclutch wearā, (that is continuous) āchanges the friction modifiersāā¦.so (in his opinion) āchanges it every 50k miles, end of storyā.
Well, guess what, you donāt āhave to...
Wouldnāt using brake cleaner be ok if you stay away from the electrical bits? Iāve only ever used brake cleaner on my diffs and not sprayed the sensor or harness and been ok ..so far. Iāve also potted my sensors and are still the original ones (21 JTR)
Remember, itās not the bolt you remove, itās the one single Torx screw is all that pins it there. Once Torx screw removed, the sensor is held in place by the pull of the magnet. Youāll figure it out when pulling it off the magnet.
The gear oil I use is MOTUL 300 75/90. Itās done very well for...
