If you insist on a true, high quality CHINESE made winch, you should try COME UP winch. All BS aside, a real competitor for the best from Superwinch and Warn.

If you look at Warn, they are still making winches in Oregon. VR series is not. And they don’t hide that. But winches like the 8274, M8000, and the Zeon series are made here. Good article on this HERE

Harbor Freight and Smittybilt are both crap. A friend of mine in the industry quotes failure/return rates as high as 50% with Smittybilt winches. Buyer beware. SUPERWINCH on the other hand makes some really well thought out winches like the Tigershark and the Talon. I have a new Talon sitting...
