Figured it would be faster and easier to grind the holes in the mounting plate into an oval shape than try to get Warn to replace a used 2 year old winch that as far as I can tell works fine. The distance between the two sides of the winch is set by that top piece. I haven't messed with those...
Finished giving her a nose job. (New bumper, skid plate and fairlead).
PSA: I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere but the mounting holes on the bottom of at least my Zeon 10-S are not 10 inches on center. The new winch mounting plate had round holes drilled precisely 10 inches on center, but...

Don't know the length needed for the RH rear shock mount skids.
My guess is that they are going to discontinue the full-time 4WD system. Plan would be to use up all of the remaining full-time transfer cases that they have in the "X" models, and then when they run out just switch the "X" over to the part-time cases.
I'm changing to a different front bumper and the Yankum Groove fairlead. Don't know about a crow knot. I'll look that up.
Doing the splice wasn't that bad. I bought these specialty scissors...
Cut off the original end loop on the winch line to get rid of the metal thimble and then tied my first locked Brummel splice:
Certainly feels like some kind of right of passage, if not becoming a member of a club. ;)
Went to finish up the locker sensor replacement and install the new Spicer nodular iron differential covers. I decided to use the bolts that came with the covers. Was following the procedure I've done before using new bolts, first pass to 16 Nm / 12 ft. lbs., and then the second pass to 35 Nm /...
From the Midland page for that antenna:
Seems difficult on a gladiator to come up with a sturdy enough mounting location for that large of an antenna that is also an adequate ground plane.
How do you have your 3.3db Ghost antenna mounted...
Got into the rear diff and pulled the locker position sensor that had failed:
It's not supposed to have any gear oil in it, let alone be half full. I got the potted sensors installed front and rear. Sensor #1 in the repair kit worked for the rear, or at least made the "Service Axle Locker"...
Popped open the front diff, pulled the locker sensor, and then filled it and the five sensors that came in the repair kit for the rear diff with the epoxy potting compound.
Creating an idiot proof depth stop for the drill bit took most of the stress out of the procedure.
That little nub of the...
Installed the ASFIR 4x4 engine and transmission skid plate:
I feel better having at least some protection for the engine oil pan and those transmission cooler lines.
Page 15 of the .pdf of the installation instructions:
https://store.arbusa.com/content/CKMTA12_Installation Guide.pdf
has the wiring diagram so that you can see which connector goes where.
I would trace where that air line attached to the banjo fitting on the front diff ends up. I would be...
Here is what I ordered and it appears to be in stock:
https://parts.allmoparparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-axle-sensor-kit-68544629aa
Searching for "68544629AB" didn't come back with any results, so I'd guess what I ordered hasn't been superceded. I haven't opened the box to actually look at the...
Yes. It was suggested to not solely rely on the "z locker oem" in that in case the locker doesn't disengage, (shafts under too much load?) then I wouldn't necessarily know that befor shifting into 4Hi, or even 2 Hi. Wish to avoid that possibility.
I picked up a set of the Spicer nodular iron...
Loaded up the JTR for the trip up to our cabin for the 4th of July weekend, pulled out of the garage and the locker symbol in the dash started flashing as well the light on the rear locker button. I thought I was being prepared by having both the Z Automotive Z locker cable and the Mopar...
I wanted to mount my Midland MXT275 GMRS radio tucked up in the driver's side footwell, but I have the Mopar trailer brake controller mounted up in there already.
So I bent up some brackets out of 2" x 1/8" aluminum that attach to the lower holes of the dash support frame (below where the...
The service manual has this:
Which isn't clear if there is a level sensor in the tank, as well as a level sensor in the supply pump.
Forum sponsor allmoparparts.com has this:
Did the DEF level go from 3/4 to full when you cleared the fault? Or was it that it went to full and then the fault...
