I'm by no means a hardcore jeeper. But I've had 3 Wrangler/Gladiators. A 1997, a 2016, and the 2021 gladiator. The 2016 has never shown any signs of DW. The 1997 did once. But it was the ball joints going bad. The 2016 has never had the kind of unstoppable resonance that I'd consider death...
I just tighten it until I feel a bit of resistance. I don't torque it down. Just until it starts to compress a little. I use hand tools. When it starts to rattle, I tighten it some more. If it creaks, I add some silicone to the seals.
