Not much for the greens. As @JTBurns said, I'd get some lca skids. I banged mine up a few times before I got some. Greens at aoaa are fun but easy. It's just a good time with nature. Hardest part is the tight turns.
I just got back from a long road trip with my MT gladiator. I can now say unequivocally, the noise is coming from the pedal itself. It's the plastic vibrating.
Whenever it'd make the noise, if I'd just barely touch the pedal withy foot. It'd stop instantly. I didn't do this for very long of...
At this point, I still think it's a resonance. What exactly is resonating, I don't know. I don't think it's a cam issue because it stops at WOT, even in the range where it normally would do it. Give it the beans, and it stops immediately. My guess is that it's related to the hydraulic cables...
Definitely not at all normal. Mine loves snow. Now ice ice on the other hand ;)
Does your traction control light flash, whenever that happens? What does it do if you turn traction control off? Almost seems like it's being overly aggressive.
If it was purchased only as a pure off-road vehicle, with no kids, I'd agree. But my jeep is my daily and my offroader. And when it's my offroader, I still like to bring the kids along. It needs to be able to do jeep stuff, truck stuff, and family stuff, for me. Cars and vehicles are just so...
It might not be obvious. The torque specs on the control arms, for example are extremely tight. I think it's around 200 ft. lbs, if I remember correctly. When I had the wobbles on my jeep, I thought everything was tight. It felt good. I took the torque wrench to everything, and the control arms...
That was a Jimny (what we knew as a Samurai when we got them here). They still make them, they just don't sell them here since they don't meet safety requirements here. Did it have Mexican plates on it maybe? Otherwise, maybe a grey market import. The grey market ones are on borrowed time...
I had a TJ before, but I have no desire to go back to that size. It'd work fine as an extra vehicle, but not as a daily driver for me. My kids' booster seat doesn't fit in it. When they were younger, the fullsize rear facing car seats were even bulkier. The front seat had to be pushed to the...
Practically speaking, DCTs are automatic-like, but they have a manual feel to them (technically they are automated manuals). Once I can't get a manual in a jeep, I hope they offer a DCT.
But back to the thread. Tacomas. I4 and hybrid only, no V6 . Perfectly fine for the application.
Sure, but gas engines and diesels are kind of on the way out too, so this era is kind of the last hurrah for the MT and for internal combustion as well. I'm enjoying it while I can. My next purchase will be at least hybridized, I'm sure. I'm glad the Jeep and the Bronco still have the option...
Front end is going to be "sloppy" no matter what, compared to most modern mainstream vehicles, other than ford super duties and ram 2500s and up. A solid axle vehicle just doesn't handle the same as an IFS vehicle. Squishy wide jeep tires don't help either. But if it's worse than before, have...
