Mmmm…. I might change my color plans to Gobi. I'm going to need to see Gator in person. Check out the jeepinformant video with the gator color touch-up paint.
I saw the 1-star safety rating video rant - still don't care. I doubt anyone here in the US who buys wranglers cares about the safety rating. Those that do care buy minivans.
The wait is killing me! But as long as its still on track to be in my driveway for Christmas 2019, when I return to the US, I'll be happy. I'll have to put the Christmas tree in the garage that year, as it may be too difficult to carry in a lift kit, 37's, wheels, bumper, and winch into the house.
After watching JLU videos of before and after a leveling kit, I would say Yes, especially if you install a heavy bumper, winch, lights, etc in the front.
I want to see the 200 accessories Mopar is saying to have ready at launch. I imagine you will be able to buy the trail cam, cargo management system, tonneau cover, and any other things not offered with your particular trim level.
Also, a trail cam (mopar or aftermarket) for the JL probably...
haha, that's what I'm saying. Anyway, I can't pay an extra 10 or 20 k for a v8 or whatever engine upgrade comes with it (twin turbo v6), so for me it's a non-thought. I'll stick with the base level Rubicon and mod it with 37's and a winch.
Older 4wd vehicles have locking hubs in the front, which locks the wheel to the axle shaft. The axle shafts are always connected to the diff, but with the hubs unlocked they can turn independently, regardless of whether or not you have a locking diff, because the wheels would not be locked to...
That's why I said to put it on the FAD side and then disable the FAD by disconnecting the plug from it (it takes a screw driver and a few seconds of your time). Then you could use 4-Low with the locker as the smaller spare would never have power to the wheel. Full time 3 wheel drive! But...
Buying a new car or a car costing more than 25k is not a wise financial decision for 99% of us. Worse yet, is doing that every few years. Plus most families have 2 cars now, which makes the math even worse. https://smartasset.com/auto/how-much-should-i-spend-on-a-car
Point being, buying the...
I wish I kept my '04 Rubicon. I sold it to my dad and he ended up trading it in years later. Now they are hard to find in stock form or with minimal mods and good condition. Your TJ would look perfect on a trailer behind your JT!!
I have my CJ in Ecuador that I will either sell down there or ship to the US. Only thing is, if I sell it down there I will lose money on it and if I bring it to the US, I will spend a lot of money making it better (new front and rear dana 44's w/lockers, etc. my list is at 10k right now) and...
My two discussion points are: 1. Limping home or off a local (easy) trail with a smaller spare tire? and 2. If I run 37's, should I limp home on the 33 or spend the extra $250 for a 35 inch? Same goes for guys wanting 38's or 40's. Do they run around town without a spare or use the a 33 or 35...
Thanks. I saw that pic on another thread, but now that I think about it, mounting the tire parallel with the bedside instead of the cab, would really cut down on the loss of rear visibility. I would need a tire mount that can be easily removed for home depot tips. With a bed packed full of...
I was thinking about that, it still takes bed space and blocks the rear view mirror but will get the job done. I have to think things thru really well before I drill mounting holes or cut anything this time. My old TJ wasn't so lucky when it came to my drilling and cutting. lol.
37-inch spare tire solution for running around town and easy trails?
I was looking for a thread to post this but see nothing this specific in the other threads.
1. I plan to run 37's and use the factory 33-inch as a spare. If I get a flat tire that can’t be plugged immediately, I could put...
