No pictures, but today I swapped out my terraflex quick disconnects for Apex Autolynx. The apex's are ?? but so worth it in my opinion. Solved the clunking sound I had when turning. The terraflex disconnects had a lot of play in the bushings. Much easier to disconnect the sway bar now.
As I mentioned in another thread, I had gears and a locker installed this week. Problem is, the shop installed the locker on the rear axle instead of the front like I had asked. I had a lsd in the rear, so I figured the front would benefit most. The service writer forgot to specify which axle to...
Yeah that was one of the options. I'm not happy about it, But yanking it out and moving it to the front would just leave me with a hole in my rear axle.
A rear locker is usually what people do anyway.
Just picked up my gladiator from regearing to 4.88s. it's so much better with the 35s. So glad I regeared. Still waiting long term tests, but I was averaging 20 mpg on the way home and no more hunting for gears.
I also had a e-locker installed, but unfortunately the shop put it in the rear...
You can probably get by with Kenda klever 35s in 10.5 inch width it will take a mpgbhit, but on flat ground it shouldn't be to bad.
On my overland with 3.73 I was getting around 16 to 17 on the hwy with those.
With that said, I just regeared to 4.88 and it's a night and day difference.
Darn. I will be out there for three days week of July 12 then heading over to Moab. Gas prices might change that though lol. Six dollar gas may make me cancel my plans.
I like the looks and lay out of that one. Should tow no problem with a weight distribution hitch.
19 gallon grey water tank is going to need dumping frequently with 4 people if taking showers. Pretty standard for that size trailer though. I would get one of those grey water rolling tanks...
I tow a 20 foot boat and I have 35-in tires with a two and a half inch Clayton lift. My boat probably weighs close to 4, 500 pounds. I really don't notice any sagging.
I run 10.5 inch 35s. Flat hwy cruising I can see close to 17mpg. Throw in hills and it drops to 16. Around town driving 15 and less.
I tow a much heavier boat than yours and it does just fine at the ramp.
With that said I'm getting 4.88s installed this month to help the transmission out.
Just save yourself some money and get 35s, cause you are going to want them once you lift it.
I have the Clayton overland 2.5 lift and love it, but the truck didn't look right until I put the 35s on.
Discount tire is my go to place for all my tire needs. Great service and good prices. I paid about 175 for them to mount my tires and spare as well. They even put black wheel weights on my rims to match.
For anyone that gets them and looking for install options I had mine done at discount tire. They mounted them on my new rims and switched over the TPMS sensors.
