Good advice above on figuring out what you need, eg how you plan on using it.
I haul kayaks into the mountains, so fiberglass offerings when I was buying were not capable.
i got an RSI. It's load rated to 300/700 lb dynamic/static. Gull wings for side access are awesome. It weighs 180 lbs...

Here is the link to a forum member with it installed on a rubicon. He replaced the winchplate with a Grimm model. You could reach out to him on fitment with the swaybar disconnects, etc on the rubicon.
I was researching this as well a few months ago, and saw a vid on a build (might have been the same referenced above). The guy liked the overall product, but commented on the weakness of the winchplate.
He subsequently posted a number of videos showing is trail recoveries after installing the...
Yup, the Ozark topper caught my eye as well. If he had the specs right at 65lb weight, and 1500lb load (I assume that is static, not dynamic), then that topper is less than 1/2 the weight of even normal fiberglass, much less aluminum or stainless (140/160/180 respectively) and TWICE the load...
Thanks for the quick rundown of all the Gladiator builds. Some really nice rigs to cherry pick ideas from.
FYI, the rack on the on the rig at 5:09 in the vid is made by Sherpa, in Berthoud CO. I swung by their shop when at Overland Expo Mountain in nearby Loveland, and they helped me special...
In place of the Mojave, they need to make you an "Outback" model... in diesel with a snorkel, no emissions equipment and a larger fuel tank! After 200k kilometers you could ship them to the US and sell them used for what you bought them for.
So, the dealer responses to this are all over the map. Some made lists of owners and are working them off in order, some are getting parts, even though their is a warehouse strike, ... one thing seems consistent is they are working on their unsold inventory before fixing trucks on the road.
My...
My dealer says all the parts that just came available, went back to unavailable to order due to warehouse strike. They keep no "lists" of people needing fixes, and no communication on whether they are fixing new inventory before existing customers. I have the second eco-Glad purchased in the...
This happened to me, and fortunately I was just a couple of miles from my dealer and they were able to fit me in.
In my case the tech triangulated to otherwise unrelated codes it was throwing, and determined it was not getting enough air to do a regen. changed the air filter (even though...
I had a similar problem, when towing, in hot weather, getting a "Service Shifter" error and then the the dash would light up with all sorts of errors, and I'd go into limp mode. I chased down some of the "hot wire harness" possibilities... these are documented better on the Wrangler forum for...
@Pescatoral Pursuit , Are your Falcons the JT Diesel version, or JT Gas versions? Falcon is one of the only manufacturers that offers a Diesel specific JT shock...different part numbers on their website. I'm assuming the Diesel version has more damping for the heavier front end.
Yup... been there in the 3.6 world. Had a cracked oil filter manifold. Replaced it with a metal one... also they need to replace the oil cooler on the 3.6 version, because it is mounted on the oil filter manifold, and the original cooler will not fit on the metal manifold.
... also had the...
Comment on possible recovery gear delete:
On our recent AZ Piece Trail trip, one guy in a Lexus (Toyota Land Cruiser with a V8) lost a nut off his front upper control arm, and lost all steering when the bolt worked loose. Obviously couldn't find the nut as it could have come out anywhere in...
Two suggestions on this...
1) replace the Highlift jack with an ARB jack pedestal, maybe add a bottle jack (and second pedistal)... then you have two jacks for less weight than the High Lift, in case you need to lift both the truck frame and support the axle to work on the suspension
2) keep...
Yup,
In planning my build I set up a spreadsheet on what NEEDED to add, and what I WANTED to add, and quickly found there was much on the WANT list that wasn't going to work in the plans.
Here's what I guessed on much of the same equipment you have:
Rockslide steps (net of factory RubiRails)...
I'm close to 50k too. I'm not worried if I'm on an interstate, or in town. Heck, I'm taking off tomorrow from AZ to Montana, Gladiator following my motorhome towing my trailer.
As long as I have a buddy vehicle, or a cell phone can get me service in an emergency, I'm not worried.
Its going...
But... to be fair to me and other owners...
I'm having to rethink my summer plans... not sure I feel comfortable driving my ecoD into the Montana backwoods by my self anymore...at least not without satellite comms and a couple days supplies... seriously, not being sarcastic here!
Gotta...
Yes... to be fair to FCA, they may not have enough real world data yet on the newer trucks to know if they have enough of a statistical issue with those as well. Im just speculating there may be a batch difference, but who knows why FCA made the cutoff at Mar 13?
