  1. DPF Failure @ 27k Miles

I'll PM you on questions on the warrantee... wonder why yours was covered and mine not.
  2. DPF Failure @ 27k Miles

Hey Tony, were you still under a warrantee when your DPF craped out? Or did you have to pay out of pocket for that?
  3. DPF Failure @ 27k Miles

Yeah, In 87k mi of driving, I only saw the top message once (and ironically I was on a windy mountain road where driving at a "Consistent Speed" was not possible). Don't think I've ever seen the second one. And now my DPF is failed !?!
  4. DPF Failure @ 27k Miles

So... I just had to replace my DPF... and the above issue I think was my problem. Here's my sequence of failure (note: i do not have a scan tool, so I do not see DFP % full, EGR temps, nor can force a regen). 1) 2021 with 79k miles, got a check engine light when snowbirding south in late Feb...
  5. Gladiator EcoDiesel Rubicon - Quality & Efficiency Build

Hey OP, nice build. Curious on how you wired in the Lithium chargers. Did you do 2 separate chargers, one for the higher Ah main, and a different one for the Aux (and any additional Aux you may add)? Does that mean you disconnected any direct charge from the alternator, and run all input...
  6. AUX battery delete and using Antigravity Brand Battery

FWIW Re: LIFPO batteries and cold weather operation: some companies sell battery warmers for their LIFPO batteries. I put them on my RV batteries In my recent LIFPO conversion on my RV using Lion Energy batteries, because I live in Montana, and even 3-season camping can get me below 33, easy...
  7. 2022 Gladiator Rubicon Ecodiesel Build

Thanks for the reply. I think I'll checkout that bestop headliner. My rack system is from Sherpa. The half rack and size of my rack on the shell are not standard items of theirs, but I visited them during Overland Expo Mountain in Loveland (Sherpa is in nearby Berthoud), they measured my...
  8. 2022 Gladiator Rubicon Ecodiesel Build

Wow, nice build. Could be my rig's twin! I like your standardization of all rigs' on diesel (RV, Jeep, RV heater, ... toilet waste incinerator!?! Holy Crap! ) ... makes for very versatile spare fuel planning! How is your bestop liner working out? I've had the bestop on my rig for 2-3 years...
  9. The ANTISHANTY camper update

Like a good fisherman, I don't divulge my secret holes, but suffice it to say National Forest campgrounds outside either Yellowstone or Glacier you find these signs. But griz are expanding their range through most of the mountain areas in western montana, eastern Idaho, and NW Wyoming. I've a...
  10. The ANTISHANTY camper update

Thanks for the update. The unique aspect of the AntiShanty rooftop solution is that it is hard-sided. Where you and I live and camp, that is a strong point, as some of the camping areas are prohibiting any soft sided camping due to grizzly activity!
  11. Bestop's Sunrider for Hardtop Sale!

Ditto the comments on: - shoulda been the first thing I put on my JT - don't need to take it off in winter, I keep it on all the time (I live in MT) I like it so much that having it on became a prerequisite for anything I added to the roof... such as these racks from Sherpa (made in Berthoud CO).
  12. Goose Lake Trail in Montana with JT's, JL's, Cybertruck

Thanks for sharing. I was up in that area in mid August... might have actually crossed your path. Goose lake was one of the possible side trips we were looking at. Actually did a couple others nearby. Your description of the trail is spot on as with many trails in that area... e.g. not...
  13. Best lift for 37" tires AND towing / overlanding

I've run AEV on my JK Wrangler, and Clayton 2.5 overland + on my JKRD with 37's, and I trailer a 19' camper, crawl Moab, and did half the Az Peace Trail in it. Here is some compare and contrast. AEV lifts are designed to work with the factory control arms, and use relocation brackets on the...
  14. My Do Everything Sarge Green Gladiator Build

Is yours a Diesel? (I read on your bio you have a 2020, so I assume gas). On the Diesel it is quite tough (impossible?) to get up there. As I recall, an extension wouldn't even work because of the angles. But I might take another run at it, maybe remove fender liners etc. and see if I can get...
  15. My Do Everything Sarge Green Gladiator Build

Yup, dealer "service" is a sore spot. But at least with the Jeep you've got tons of aftermarket options, and after your warrantee is over, tons of offroad shops with very capable techs and deep jeep knowledge. ... and this forum!
  16. My Do Everything Sarge Green Gladiator Build

Yea, you do want to figure out what base level you want to start at that doesn't require throwing out some expensive option, or adding a more expensive add on. For me, I was tossing between Mojave and Rubicon Diesel. I figured I could add a Mojave-like suspension for way less than adding a...
  17. My Do Everything Sarge Green Gladiator Build

As appropriately noted, I think you started out saying this is your first jeep. You are officially baptized now! "The purchase price of this jeep was a down payment for the cost of all the mods". Doesn't matter if you start with a Sport or a Rubicon, you are still going to spend money... and...
  18. My Do Everything Sarge Green Gladiator Build

Be sure to check the installation guide thoroughly. I have a diesel set... got them because they were one of the few (only) affordable aluminum (less weight) diesel specific... installation advertised "no drilling". But didn't read the install instructions first. Turns out on the diesel...
  19. Car and Driver: Would you rather? Gladiator vs GMC Canyon

I think you are right... ...and the sales numbers for 2023 are in the tank (possibly also due to high financing rates). MAYBE Jeep is finally taking note... 2024 prices just came out this week and they are DOWN from 2023.
  20. In-bed magnetic bicycle rack installed (Difficulty: 1/5)

Nice idea. I've done a similar setup for my JK, a plank with front tire brackets that I velcro strapped to the 60% portion of the back seat back. I've been looking for a good way to do a similar setup on the Gladiator, and your magnet idea is pretty good. How stable is it on bumpy roads...
