So I've got a '21 6MT JTR that still has a stock clutch in it. I've had zero issues with it so far. I'd love to have a heavier flywheel and as such, have an ACT setup that's been sitting in my garage for a couple years waiting to go in. I've also had my recall notice for the clutch...
I searched but didn't turn up much. I've got my Apex half installed at this point and want to relocate the solenoid/wireless controller/plug assembly to inside the engine bay, somewhere. This leaves a clean look in the bumper, IMO, but leaves the rope exposed to the elements. Anyone know...
Anyone tried getting the dealer to install an aftermarket clutch instead of the new recalled clutch? I've had an ACT sitting in the garage for over a year now but the stocker has been working fine, so I never pressed the issue. But, if I could get a free install, I'd go that route.

Yup. Have one on mine and no issues at all. That said, they will tell you it doesn't work, but it does. The only thing is that it does not mount where they want you to put it because the clutch assembly is in the way. I think I just zip tied mine to the crossbar.
Speaking of drain plugs, I was under mine the other day to check diff temps after a recent gear install and noticed what appears to be a drain plug on the front driver's side of the diff housing itself. After seeing that, I wondered why people (myself included) make such a deal about some...
I bought my JTR almost 3 years ago along with a 5gal bucket of Fluid Film and a 1gal bucket of black woolwax, as well as the spray setup. I still haven't done it. Would be interested to know if others have as well.
Not sure exactly. Sitting here at work trying to watch some install videos and all I've seen so far is people going at the pinion nut with an impact. I'm pretty sure the guy said the pinion splines are helical cut, which doesn't seem right to me as in the videos I've seen so far, the splines...
Quick question for the masses. I've had my JT at the local gear install shop (Babbitt Bearing in Columbus, Ohio) for a few days now. They are (trying) installing new Spicer 5.13 gears for me. What should have been a 1-2 day job is now going into a 4th day. The front. according to them. went...
I have one of these in my Honda Pioneer 520. Overall, I love it. It locks solid and the thing will go damn near anywhere in 4wd. That being said, it does make an occasional ratcheting sound, even while in 2wd. Not sure if that would be a problem with the Jeep, but the locker looks nearly the...
No ragrets here. Not even a single letter.
That being said, people keep bashing the MT itself. I've yet to read about even one MT TRANSMISSION failure. The clutch? yes. absolute dog crap. However, at this point you know that going into the purchase. The transmission has been solid and...
