When the oil cooler went out on our JKU the warranty certainly replaced it but they didn’t clean all that old oil from the entire undercarriage. As an aircraft mechanic, the job isn’t complete till every thing is clean.
She didn’t have a name for 7 months then-Maleficent, (the witch from Snow White) we’re Huge Disney fans. The black and red theme seemed to fit. My 13 Rubicon is...Ruby cause she’s deep crystal red and a Rubicon.
Sorry about your transmission. I bought a brand new 2001 3/4 ton Ram with the Cummins in 2000, turbo went out, then the power steering, when the power steering went out, I lost brakes (diesel thing) took out the front axle and control arms. Dodge had it for months, finally wind up buying it back...
Hooked up the WWII 1/4 ton trailer and made 2 trips to the dump. Filled the bed and trailer, first time using a trailer with the JT, no problems what so ever. I need a bigger trailer...
It’s about $600 for the dealer to change the plugs.
with a few simple hand tools you can do it in an afternoon. I changed coil packs and plugs on my 13 JKR (same engine). Take it slow and keep everything clean!
I think a lot of us miss the mark on the 8th gear. It’s a Second Overdrive. There’s a lot of factors involved in when and why it comes out of 8th. If your geared to stay in 8th going up a hill, your deleting the overdrives. No big deal if that’s what you want but my JTR is more of a mall crawler...
Ours has all the features. Let me put it this way, it’s similar to autopilot on an aircraft with TCAS, TAWS and a RA. It just relieves loads so you can be more vigilant. After 6 months, I’ve only had one false, a bridge stack in San Antonio, access road, southbound 1604/281. The FCA flashes but...
I just went 37’s today. Test drive was 20 miles half hiway at 65-75 with ACC on at 75. Felt fine to me, no big change from 35’s. I’ll re-gear to 4.88 or 5.13 sometime down the road. When we went 35’s on the wife’s old 2016 JKU, we HAD to go 4.56 and should have gone 4.88.
Wheels and tires arrived from the east coast today. Swapped them out, adjusted TP and set up the tazer for just a hair over 36, they measured 36 1/4” mounted with 36psi on 9” rims, 35” with weight on them. Then went on a bike ride to the lake with friends, got home, loaded up the Gladiator and...
It’s actually one of the main reasons I bought it. It works as good as I figured, learn how to use it, it takes a few trips to get it down but I use it everywhere.
