Adaptive Cruise Control: yay or nay?

It’s actually one of the main reasons I bought it. It works as good as I figured, learn how to use it, it takes a few trips to get it down but I use it everywhere.

I use CC everyday in my JT. The Missus had ACC in her Camry now she has it in her 21 Grand Cherokee, and I love to drive her GC, I prefer using the CC over ACC. Just a preference but if I were to get another JT, it would be a Rubi Diesel and if I got ACC with it, it would be because the package had something else I wanted for I certainly wouldn't use it.

Again, we have a communication device adversely affecting the driving environment. It has been noted that a manual gearbox is a great anti-theft feature. Shoot, some folks do not even know how to spell BRAKES, much less how to use them.

Wouldn't Insurance cover the windshield repairs and associated components?

My State Farm, here in vegas, does not, and will not, cover glass. When i lived in Mi, they coverws with no deductible?Go figure?

Not sure why you say that. I had the ACC on my LE and it was great. Replaced the windshield and it was still great. No extra cost to me for replacement, just the $100 deductable and the technician recalibrated the ACC/Advanced Safety.

The ACC is separate from the windshield. The ACC is attached to the frame/roll bar.

When you fold your windshield down the ACC unit stays in place. Jeep provided a plastic cover most dealers and people throw away because they do not know what it is. The Cover goes on the ACC when the windshield is fold down to protect the ACC unit.

The glass windshield is specific, but its still just a glass windshield.

That’s a reach. I’ve never so much as had a parking ticket in 24 years of driving.
Relaxing and enjoying the route to a trailhead is nice if you’re one of those people who actually operates the other lever in the truck

I had ACC on my previous vehicle (Kia Sedona) and I loved it! I wish I had it on my JT. But it is a driver aid, not a crutch. You still have to pay attention to what is happening around you. It actually helps improve your situational awareness since you can spend slightly more time looking around at what the traffic does without risking rear-ending the vehicle in front of you if they brake/slowdown unexpectedly. Think of it as an extra set of eyes working for you. It is amazingly useful in traffic condition when passing right away is not practical. Think about being stuck behind a "Yo-Yo" driver going from 10 over to 10 under on a two-lanes road where it is not safe to pass for a while. You set it and the ACC do the work for you until it is safe to pass, saving your energy and patience for more important things. Like creating complex insults for said "Yo-Yo" driver in front of you... It even helps in foggy conditions when white and gray car seems to not understand how invisible they can be without running lights... They slow down without touching the brake as you're doing your mirror check, your vehicle react faster than you can. And let's be honest here, who never almost rear-ended the car in front of them when a "head-turner" was walking on the sidewalk? So, anyway, I'm a big fan of ACC.

Wouldn't have mind having it but didn't want to pay the upcharge for something I thought should have been included in a vehicle of this cost. I was really more interested in the lane assist feature but that also was another upcharge.
Considering how easy these windows pop that ACC could be a pain in the butt

On a vehicle that has the ability to go topless/doorless I don't like the amount of electronics we are forced to have, let alone add more electronics to the mix.

Yes, I have seen all the hype about how sealed, water resistant, safe it all is. I don't want to be "That Guy" that his electronics missed water proof day on the line.

Before you decide to pile on because you don't like my opinion, feel free to read all over the Board about JT's shutting down electronically and the Dealer can't figure out why. Then go ahead and enjoy your Jeep.
