Who has the Adaptive Cruise Control? How do you like it?
With the JT being my Daily Driver, I keep going back and forth on if I want to try and locate one with Adaptive Cruise Control.
We have ACC on out Nissan Murano and find it useful on the highways with some traffic.

I have had ACC on multiple vehicles and overall I have really enjoyed the option. I will say there are big variations between manufacturers so not sure how the Jeep compares. My Gladiator does not have it... I wished I held out to find one that did!

I have it, and have yet to use it. I'm sure when I go visit family in Oklahoma or Texas it will be great to turn on for long stretches. But I live near i70 in Colorado. I'm either going up to high passes or down to Denver, and the steep inclines and sharp turns make this essentially unusable.

But someday!

Has it in another car and liked it but for the Jeep I did not want it because of the extra cost and windshield replacements

I've never understood the need for it. If the vehicle ahead of me slows down, I want to get around and pass, not brake and stay at the same distance away. I actually hate that I probably indirectly pay for this tech as part of the 'research' budget....

Liquor Attorney. So not all bad...
I have Subaru's version in a CrossTrek. Works great but I don't feel the need for it. I would not have it in the first car for my kids - they will both drive manual transmission, roll down window vehicles with radios - no bluetooth, CD player (ok maybe a tape deck), automatic transmissions or whatever. After they learn to drive properly they can do whatever they want on their own dime.

Long story short: I ordered my JT with everything I wanted and nothing I didn't and I skipped both safety items. The backup camera is a revelation for me. But I'm glad I didn't get ACC and don't miss it at all. Also - 6MT - couldn't see how that was going to work. Heck regular cruise with a manual is a PITA with such tall gearing in 6th...

I'm glad to read its worked out for so many of you.
I'ts not for me because when it needs repairs its going to cost more.
Another story, family friend has a Honda and legit almost died 4x with it slamming on the brakes on the interstate - with traffic in back of him and all clear up front! 3 different dealers can't fix it and its under the Lemon Law now.
I fully understand ANYTHING can break down or have an issue, regardless of brands. I'm good without it.

I love it so far, but i read when the windshield breaks, its more expensive to replace.
Wouldn't Insurance cover the windshield repairs and associated components?

I absolutely hate adaptive cruise control; it turns drivers into mindless drones.

Nothing more irritating than a vehicle on adaptive cruise control sitting mindlessly on the passing lane blocking everyone else.
Not you, but...

This was a must have for me when we got our first Jeep (Wrangler) and then the Gladiator. Jeep’s version is not as refined as on my Volvo XC-60, but still works well enough to be very beneficial.

It’s obviously not for everyone - probably will stir as much debate as a manual versus automatic discussion. That said, some comments about it fall clearly to the ignorant side of the debate, such as “Nothing more irritating than a vehicle on adaptive cruise control sitting mindlessly on the passing lane blocking everyone else.” If that scenario ever happens (and the person is using cruise control), the ACC is obviously just CC at that point, so the fact that it’s ADAPTIVE cruise control has no bearing on a vehicle holding a constant speed in any lane with no vehicles in front of it. It is irritating when a vehicle on cruise control is sitting mindlessly in the passing lane holding an obvious constant speed blocking everyone else. This is also a scenario where ACC really shines - when you’re in the line of traffic behind that one person holding everyone up. You don’t need to fiddle with your cruise control speed and worry about either falling behind that person (and now you’re the problem) or running up the tailpipe of that person - all with a lot less stress, besides the stress you’ve generated being stuck behind that person on good old fashioned cruise control sitting mindlessly in the passing lane blocking everyone else.

I really like the ACC. I had usually used regular cruise control when driving on the freeway in light traffic. I did not know what to expect with my JTR, hadn't had adaptive cruise control before. When I do use cruise control, I use ACC 95% of the time. Sometimes you have to "cancel" to pass a "slow-bro" or "rolling road block", if you want to pass quickly.

How hard is it to toggle ACC on and off? I feel like that's where most of my frustration is with the few systems I've used.
It’s off when you start the vehicle. Same with regular cruise. You have to turn them on via steering wheel button every time you start the vehicle if you want to use them.

Easy. There are separate controls for the ACC system for enabling and disabling it. There is also a control to set your distance from the vehicle in front of you - shorter/further.

Edit: How does it compare to other manufactures?
Once you have ACC it’s hard to go without. I’ve had several vehicles with it and the JT version is similar to the others. I highly recommend it.
