I have 37x13.50 nitto exo grapplers, spare mounted in stock location on stock wheel aired down. I also carry a spacer as I anticipate the backspacing on the spare would be an issue albeit in limited situations, though I have not tested it without to verify. Had an extra spacer from a past jk...
I seem to remember a guy that had a similar type thing going on and it ended up being an electrical/ wiring harness problem. Plug wasn't fully connected or wire had a short or something in the transmission/transfer case harness.
Any chance your xm radio quit working the same time??
I had the same cel come on under similar circumstances. I happened to be on vacation and was still more than 200 miles from my destination at 9 o'clock at night. Took off after restarting and didn't get very far down the road before my...
I had the def system problem on mine but once they replaced the tank and heaters it has worked flawlessly since. Virtually everyone I know of that had the def problem were able to get it resolved.
Assume most would agree this past winter was one of the worst from a temperature standpoint that...
Just my opinion but I wouldn't bother with 18's. They cost more and havr Fewer tire choices than 17's. If you want more wheel or space for brakes put 20's on it.
I had this problem and honestly the dealer was never able to resolve the problem. I ended up trading my jt in on one with a hard top so I didn't have to deal with it anymore. it started as an occasional mild hum but developed into an obnoxious violent vibration.
There is a service bulletin out...
Should be good if rain and leaks are your main concerns.
Mine was vibrating/buffetting so bad the windshield was vibrating and I couldn't see anything through the rear view mirror.
Hard top
I've made the drive from Iowa to Florida twice (16 hrs both ways) with a soft top and once with a hard top. I'll never do another several hour road trip with a soft top. It's worth pointing out 2 things.
1. that I do have a place to put the hard top and doors once we get to Florida to...
So I had a somewhat similar experience. While this is a rather obscure/unrelated thing I believe mine was somehow tied to a glitch with my xm radio as my xm went out the same time my dash lit up like a Christmas tree.
I checked fuses to make sure they were all seated as that is a common issue...
Both of mine were stiff as hell to start with.....moving slightly like mentioned above does help it engage fully and more smoothly. It'll loosen up with time and reps.
A side note.......make sure you have it fully seated/locked in 4 lo, my first gladiator jumped out of 4 lo twice, once while...

Same thing with mine the first time I took it in but the CEL and message came back on in less than 10 miles and they were able to scan and diagnose problem.......took them a couple weeks to get parts and get it fixed but they did.
Sport s w/ max tow is probably the best bang for the buck. The max tow 4.10 gears, wider axles, limited slip rear-end, are helpful and worth the extra money but not necessary to go offroading. If you are going to lift and/or put on bigger tires, you'll definitely want the 4.10 gears.
Why is it that a question in the diesel section specifically to diesel owners draws the interest and ignorance of those that don't own or drive the specific vehicle in question......oh well it is kind of humorous to see them make fools of themselves.
I dont speak for everybody......but for...
I've clocked a little over 9k miles on 37's and stock gears. The last 3k was a road trip from iowa to Florida for spring break, 2k with a 25' panga center console in tow.
Boat and trailer around 5k lbs with a big bow sticking up in the wind. It ran low to mid 70's in 7th gear most of the time...
