Never assume an engineer is smarter than a tampon. I would put faith and trust into the pioneer thinking men on this board long before I would a corporate engineer, and so should you.
So, didn't have time to do anything last night, but no howl driving home with scoop taped off, and none this morning with it open, so it's a miniscule problem if it even is one. I'm still going to experiment with venting this week and let you guys know what I come up with. It's that or put the...
@Jaxmax, Man, that OEM system sure would be nice on a 3.6, sounds like you.re all over it, There's not much a thinking man can't get done. Please keep me posted on your progress!!! ?
Right now, JT is the only vehicle with employee pricing, Jeep is pretty good at keeping secrets, I'll create a slight breach of etiquette by assuming they are trying to clear lots for the introduction of the Hurricane inline six for 2024 or 2025.
Well hell, this is troubling. Mine is white too, so it can't be that. Maybe it's just me, which is usually the case. Got up to 50mph with my scoop taped closed and no wind howl. I may have to start looking at the firewall for air leaks. I always get a warped one.
That would be nice to have, from what I've gathered, the hood components would be the same, but ducting would have to be modified. I don't mean to boast, but I too consider myself a ninja.
Very good points, Grubby. Although assuming I needed more air out, I did not consider less air flow through the radiator. I'll try a few different things and let you guys know if I come up with a winner, I think more airflow past the motor is advantageous, mostly. Radiator fans activate because...
Test Mule, I may try that, I saw another thread where guys were mounting lights behind the opened up scoop, I'll have to see how they mounted them, as that may work for a deflector. The engine compartment is sealed off from the cowl, but there's a piece of weather strip at the back of the hood...
I didn't intend it to be a ram air intake, and I really didn't expect it to bring in that much more air, but I figured a nice stream of ambient air in, flowing across the top of the engine and hot engine compartment air out the vents would be nice. That and I'm bored and can't leave it alone.
Fellas, looking for some input here, I opened up the hood scoop on a '23 Mojave, wanting some extra engine compartment ventilation, now above 35 mph, I have a wind howl in the firewall/ glovebox area. I figured the fender vents would be enough to vent the extra air, it almost seems like the...
