According to my suspension shop, the factory spec for caster is low, and dialing in more for my JTR made a big positive improvement. Mopar LCA's for the 2" lift kit are cheap at @AllMoparParts.com and take maybe 30 min to install.
One of the first things I did was to spend $60 at @AllMoparParts.com for a pair of the Mopar 2" lift fixed LCA's. This was before the TSB was a thing, and cranking the caster up to ~6 degrees made a marked improvement in the tracking and stability of the JTR.
My suspension shop said it didn't...
There is someone who's really frustrated with his Tazer Mini, he might make you a really good deal.
I've no complaints about my Tazer, for a JTR, the additional functionality is a HUGE deal.
I have a buddy from Durban who mentioned KO2's are available in his part of Africa. Very popular, he approved of the 315/70R17's I swapped on to my JTR.
He uses his Diesel Nissan pickup to launch his surf boats, so all weather street tires are his choice - sand is a special case.
The much smaller ones intended for Toyotas fit as well, and take up a lot less room. This is what I bought last year: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZVGT9T8/
TOTAL capacity ignores it comes from 40 gal of fresh - that's 350 lbs. You don't transport the trailer with full grey and black tanks if you've just filled your fresh. A couple gal in the black tank and you're good.
@sunrise089 <-- I apologize for confusion, @kevman65 is simply repeating...
I forgot one, a leather interior. I didn't want it, have had leather in vehicles before and didn't think I liked it. Leather and the cold weather package were the "eh, it's close enough" items when I found what I wanted. I was wrong, leather is easier to keep clean.
Little dogs or big dogs...
A good friend has a nice 2019 RAM 1500 with the 3.6L and the fancy bed. He said he about fainted when he saw how much Gladiators were in comparison. I get it, but I didn't want a car with a pickup bed, I wanted a Jeep with a pickup bed!
He still laughs at me, and then has to buy me lunch...
Bedliner is easily done afterwards at equivalent or lower cost. Different colors, too.
The Alpine audio system and 8.4 display are REALLY nice and I'd not spend the aftermarket $$$ for that. The 10" Stinger is a head unit only and is $1000, add speakers and a subwoofer $$$$.
Headliner...
Makes sense, the Wrangler prints money for Jeep. We saw several paper plate Wrangler 4xE's last weekend in San Francisco, and He!! they just jacked up the sticker on that model!
Follow the $$$.
I've passed on slightly better pricing at XT in favor of Northridge, which frequently has better pricing depending on the product. I've never EVER had anything but great results with Northridge. I think the last thing I bought from XT was Lange Coyote mirrors, and that was only because I'd...
BAD ASS! I love the 6" barrel vibe!
I stole my 686 on a consignment, I put down $300 as soon as the seller left. Had to wait 30 days and then another ten for stupid California laws, but I wasn't going to miss out on a classic. Total was $600 and tax not five years ago, got offered $700 by our...
We have a State highway that parallels I-5 but 50 miles East (other side of the Valley) and the semi-truck traffic there is horrendous, exactly as you describe.
It makes it worth adding 20-50 miles to a trip to avoid the "Bloody 99" by diverting to the I-5.
On the other hand, we took a...
I've DEFINITELY used handloading as a reason to buy new guns. I've loaded 357 Magnum since I was in high school and I like full house ballistics for the range. H110 is surprisingly versatile despite being developed for the M1 Carbine cartridge - 300 BLK and 357 Mag are both beneficiaries.
I...
Tires are the fastest way to better off-road performance, especially if you have all-seasons from the factory. Not all JT's have AT's and MOST 4x4's in general do not.
Interstate 5 between San Francisco and Los Angeles is wide open. When Sammy Hagar was screaming about "I can't drive 55" he was talking about that stretch of road particularly.
"It took me 16 hours to get to L.A."
Too hot and dry for critters of any kind.
You don't drive in California, fine. You don't like people driving Jeeps fast, fine. Don't make shit up just to make your point.
Gladiator's will drive 98 MPH indicated and probably faster than that.
