Dynamic Overland, thanks for the warning. After reading your post I checked my 22 JTRD with 18k miles for this issue. The jacket on the wiring harness at the same location was rubbing the heat shield and chafing. I couldn’t get my hand anywhere near it and was unable to tell if the wires were...
I found these for my Rock Hard sliders that are made for a side by side. They make the wife happy in town and I remove them as needed when off-road. I don’t recall who I purchased them from but do a search and you should find them. They are for 1 3/4” diameter tubing. (Hopefully I did this...
I know this is not what you exactly asked about but it worked for me. I put a lightweight synthetic down blanket between the hardtop and a mesh sunscreen and just leave it in place. It provides both insulation and sound deadening plus you always have an emergency blanket. Before doing this I...
I’m wanting to use a relay or solenoid for a 6 gauge wire to get power to the bed also. Any recommendations on a particular type or model solenoid or relay to use?
Chorky, you commented earlier in this thread that the SD springs were “relatively loose” in the buckets but didn’t fall out. If the HD springs are shorter it seems they would even be looser. Any idea how much shorter they are?
Fourfa, I have the Falcon SP2 shocks (see my post above) and am looking for springs and lift that would work well with the shocks. I was hoping the adjustibility of the Falcons would let me tune the shock to my needs depending on the load on the Gladiator. Right now I’ve removed all my gear...
Currently I have stock suspension, RSI Smartcap, RTT, fridge in the bed, full MetalCloak belly skids plus everything else to camp/overland. Stock suspension is overloaded. I got a deal on the SP2’s that I couldn’t pass up. I’m looking for 2.5 to 3” of lift utilizing the Falcon shocks. You’re...
I’m thinking about pairing the AEV lift with the heavy duty springs (3” lift) with the Falcon SP2 3.3 shocks for a 2-3” lift (part #14-02-33-400-152). I would be installing the lift on a JTR diesel. I’m hoping someone else who has done this or knows someone who has done this or something similar...
Does anyone know the extended and compressed length of the Bilstein shocks AEV uses in their 2.5 - 3.0” lifts? I called AEV and was told by the person I spoke with he didn’t have that information.
“Any idea? It really seems to come from the engine/exhaust”
Look on this post made on 12/21/23:
“ New Gladiator Diesel Owner: Engine Start shake and "Drivetrain" noises”.
There is a recording on this post also. My Diesel makes the same “Darth Vader” noise and I was told by a tech at the...
Mine also makes the “Darth Vader” noise. As I posted previously, I first noticed it off-road with windows down at very slow speed when I took my foot off the accelerator when the motor had a load on it. It will do it if while in drive and sitting still, I hold the brake and then press and...
I hear a noise that I think is what you are describing at low rpm also. To me it sounds like a bearing that is going bad. I first noticed it off-road at low speed when I took my foot off the accelerator with a load on the motor. If I put the jeep in drive, hold my foot on the brake then press on...
