Personally I would never do it to mine. The stuff is a nightmare to clean, you have to basically scrub it with a brush and even then it's tough to get the dirty look cleaned off. The more it's exposed to the sun the quicker it fades, even the high end brands. It's probably not worth the cost in...
They're definitely a rare beast when it comes to tires, and that just makes them that much more interesting to me. I'll post pics when I get them mounted, which might be a while now. I'm probably going to put off getting new wheels to pair them with until this corona virus scare dies down a bit.
I had it up on my hoist at work last Monday, and looking at it closely, I can see that the spacer is definitely deformed and stretching itself towards the tire, causing the spring to not seat onto it correctly. I've emailed Daystar to try and get a replacement through warranty, but they never...
I'm a little confused by this kit. It looks like 2 spacers per side, one says 1 inch, and the other .5 inch. So assuming you use both per side, that gives you an 1.5 inches of lift, but the instructions also say to use the factory isolator, which is .5 inches by it'self. So that would total out...
I'm going to lift it up and take it a apart this weekend to try and figure it out. I'm guessing it has something to do with the poly spacer. Probably warping or being crushed excessively.
Are you using the Daystar leveling kit like mine? This kit doesn't call for an adjustable track bar, and...
Just like the title says. I've had the Daystar 1.5 inch kit or a few weeks and I just now noticed it. The passenger side seems pretty good from my inspection. I installed this myself and made sure I seated the springs into to correct positions. Any advice or thoughts?
I'm not sure, I've never had to use it before. I figure even if they do, it would take many claims to reach a point that it would be cheaper to buy the glass outright. My insurance premium did go up 2 dollars a month, though.
After cracking my window and browsing the various threads on here about cracked windshields, I updated my insurance to a $0 glass deductible. Only raised my premium $2 a month.
Funny part is, as I was typing that, I I thought to myself how dirty that could sound. I just let her go anyways...
How much does the hard too weigh?
This is exactly what I have decided I'm going to to do when spring comes around. It seems pretty easy to me I guess, depending on how much the top weighs. Being able to stand in the bed and also have access through sliding window is a huge advantage.
I'm not sure if it's standard with painted fenders, but those are there to protect the paint against road debris kicking up and chipping the paint because they stick out from the body.
Well, I just passed the 1 month mark since I drove the JT off the lot. I'm sure we all have our reasons for getting a JT instead of a Wrangler or a different midsize truck, but for me, it was several reasons. I bought my first home a couple of years ago (a fixer upper) and I slowly found out how...
