I have absolutely beat the heck out of mine on rocks across Texas, Colorado and Utah; they have held up great. I did hit one so hard once that the step portion got a little crooked in the casing - whacked it with a hammer and it went right back in place. These things are built like a tank.

Have you considered the new flexible solar panels? Much lighter weight and maybe easier to mount. I've thought about this option for solar power, but since I don't stay in one place for more than a day or so, I mostly charge my power station with my on board DC charger from the alternator...
I love my Overland RuffRax rack - Sam the owner is a vet and its 100% made in the USA. Mine integrates with the RollnLock tonneau cover and keeps all my gear dry and dust free. I have the TuffStuff overland Alpha II tent which I also love. Lots of great choices in RTT out there - definitely...
I've got a 2020 and so far so good at nearly 50K. If it needs any kind of valvetrain work, that 3.6 is gone and a hemi is going in. Agree with other posters that I'd avoid the diesel like it was the bubonic plague. Stellantis has a bad rep for engine quality. The hemi is nearly 20 years old now...
I like this a lot. I have a roll-n-lock cover and use Milwaukee packouts for all my gear. However Iām always just kinda stuffing gear in those spaces around the wheels.
Will your 5.7 run on 87? If so, thatās a major plus. I see a hemi swap in my future and flip flop all the time on the 5.7 vs 6.4 with the big plus of the 5.7 the ability to run 87
im sure youāll love the Bronco. I have one of eat, JT and Bronco and like both. I would say that overall the 2.7 eco boost is a far better engine than the 3.6 in every way. The oil leak you mentioned is a very common one on the 3.6.
The JT imho is much better for overlanding and going difficult...
And you know, it really doesn't make sense - they've been making the 3.6 for a longgggg time. I have a 2020 JT with 45K on the ODO. If the engine has any kind of major problem, I'm doing a 392 swap. "Sorry honey, we don't really have any other choice" ;-)
