    Sounds like it is popping into N ... the rolling 2-3 mph does help when on a surface other than sand. These transfer cases need to break in. I can shift into 4lo now from a complete stop without issue.

    I believe by and large that the 850RE's are very reliable ... anything can have an issue. It's how these problems are handled by the dealerships that is an increasing concern.

    I traded in a 14' Pro4-X for my JT ... the Frontier was an excellent truck. Solid and reliable with the VQ-40 as they had worked out most bugs ... and IMO easier to lift and fit larger tires than the Taco. Fuel efficiency was it's biggest detriment. the JT hands down smokes them ALL off road ...

    My last two toppers have been from Leer ... they are what they are. My biggest complaint was the latching mechanism on the rear glass. I couldn't get that thing adjusted to save my life.     Difference in terminology ... depending on the force of the impact I could see a control arm possibly being bent. The Control arms themselves are relatively inexpensive, so unless there is unexplained damage to the axle itself the quote does seem high?
