Sorry, no money or time for analysis, well, until recently.
I find that the sound of the valve train, when warm, is a good way to know when to check the oil for more than just its level: what color, how quickly does it drip, smell.
The valve train becomes nosier, like the oil has thinned, and...
How many months and miles since the last oil change, and has the weather been warmer than usual? And, are time of the ticks far apart, like for only one cylinder, or like the entire valve train?
The reason I ask, I notice the valve train being noisier on our vehicles when the oil is about used...
"But hey, that still leaves me wondering why did my other vehicles with GPS require internet? Without it the dang thing would've even turn on."
Huh? That sounds like their "GPS" was really A-GPS (assisted GPS), the same as you have on your iPhone or Android standard maps. That flavor of GPS...
LOL, I put them on last Oct due a road I drive frequently having a stream running down it; just not into mud every day up the sides, and the occasional rock.
That stream has since dried, but I was happy to still have the flaps installed when driving a new trail/dirt road recently. A flock of...
Well, if nothing else from this thread I have a better understanding of of how my responses about ESS went sideways. Yikes...
Oil, whether engine or fryer or whatever thins as heat breaks it; full agreement on viscosity loss over time, not that you need validation.
Anyone that thinks oil...

Yeah, first messed up road we drover out here, a rutted/washed and off camber forest service road not groomed in over a year, on the side of very steep mountain. Thinking, the cost of a flip...

I've not chalk tested. 32 or so is where I no longer see daylight under the outer tread blocks and have a smoother ride on street. But, running at that pressure costs about 2 MPG, end up averaging 17 instead of 19.
Our JTR spits up now and then, fast or slow pump speed, filler pointed up slope or down slope. When it does happen, I can hear gurgling in the filler neck, burp burp burp.
I learned to make a bib with the gas station paper towels, like two or three is enough, at the bottom of the nozzle +...
Nah, I use the indicators all the time, even to say "Thank you", so those are useful. Lane departure, auto-brake, so on, are not useful, to me. But, a buddy did have the lane departure save his butt. Of course he could have chosen to not drive after a twenty hour work day; there is that too...
