The other thing that bothers me is that while it's always the smaller pins, it doesn't seem to be consistent as to which pins are bent (and why only those, when adjacent ones are straight).
Also, their exact words in the bulletin:
"On Jeep Wrangler, the doors are designed to be removed by...
My 2 cents -
I think the connector is bending the pins when you remove it from the lever.
I say this because I double checked before reattaching them, and the pins were already bent. I can only assume they were straight from the factory, and I didn't attempt to reconnect it until I bent them...
Black - 2
White - 1
Silver - 1
Red - 1
Sting Grey - 2
Gobi - 1
Gator - 2 (including mine)
Blue - 2
Pumpkin - 0
Granite - 0
I have seen a pretty even spread, though it's a fairly small sample size.
Wranglers on the other hand... nearly 50% of them around here are white or some shade of grey. I...
Glad I read up on this. With the hurricane on the way I decided to put the doors back on today. I before I connected the plugs I twisted myself around to check the pins and sure enough the small outside pin on the passenger door was bent. I used a key to bend it back and everything seems to...
Clearly, you two are meant to be together. Stars and fates aligned, and all that.
I was pretty stoked when I got mine in gator - I had only seen a few gladiators ever, and none in that color. 2 weeks into driving it I spot someone with the same color and trim, though I only have steps added...
Yeah I can't be 100% sure because I always wear my belt when driving, but I did move the truck out of the driveway last week with no doors and no seat belt. The dash said something like "vehicle not in park" in red but I was able to reverse (slowly) and come to a stop.
Ok that makes sense then. If that's what the market is expecting than there is no huge advantage to outdo them when you do indeed have the 4x4 capability that the others lack.
I think hub motors would be cool I just thought it would be impractical given how far you'd have to drive just to get...
I have no idea what the formula looks like, but the vehicle is supposed to somehow factor in how you drive in addition to simply miles traveled. I don't think there is any sort of "clock" counting down, though, so you do have to keep track the last date if you don't drive it much.
I haven't...
Honestly this sounds like the explanation, though I seem to experience it while on flat ground occasionally. I'm used to an automatic pushing up to the highest gear as soon as it can and coasting... but it does seem like the truck is intentionally keeping the transmission in a lower gear to...
I agree. While I like the principled stand of "I'll buy when it's fully electric" I also think that's just not practical for a vehicle designed to be taken out in the woods, through streams, and basically as far from a charging station as you could imagine.
I also think 25 miles seems low but...
I am not missing them for safety reasons - I check over my shoulder regardless. They were convenient for parking/backing but without a top or doors that's a lot easier anyway.
Our state laws are pretty lax, but you do have to worry about some of the speed trap towns that like to cite for...
Well I ended up without one because I couldn't find one on the lot that had it and didn't want to wait for the dealer to have it sprayed later that week.
I fully intended on getting one from the start, or at least right after I bought it.
But I find myself really liking the look without it. I...
I had to reread the manual because I'm also a newb when it comes to 4WD, but I didn't see anything saying to put the transmission in neutral when switching from 2H to 4H. The language about letting off the accelerator and moving at speeds of 0-45 mph led me to think they were talking about...
I'm enjoying it for now, but I know there's only so long before my wife demands access to the carport again. I need to look into the rain cover... or maybe just a walmart blue tarp and some bungees.
Several years ago we got into hammock camping and making our own gear... I might have to...
Passed another Gladiator yesterday and got the most enthusiastic wave yet :)
Took the top off and got around a dozen waves today. It seems to get the attention of other Jeeps from father away.
95% of the waves are Wranglers. JTs are getting more coming common, but I still go days between...
Ditto what others have said. I am reluctant to chime in, out of superstition and not wanting to jinx myself... but a little over 1,500 miles and ~2 months with ZERO issues.
Test drive it just to be sure. Maybe even ask to test drive two different trim levels just so you can get a comparison...
I don't have enough of a problem to give you anything specific, but it doesn't seem to want to cruise along at lower speeds. I drive pretty slowly in my neighborhood (someone or something always in the streets) and it feels like it wants more throttle. Not really enough of a bother or...
Yeah it makes a lot of sense for it to simply disable at the next start-up.
Think about it... you get carjacked, guy takes off and then the vehicle dies 100 ft away. I'd rather they be 10 miles away. If the Jeep won't restart, they'll have to leave it eventually.
But on the other hand, if...
I've driven sedans all my life and it took a little getting used to.
First off, though, don't feel at all bad about having the tires overinflated. It seems every dealer does this, despite supposedly looking over every detail before letting you drive off. I'm not sure what the excuse is - the...
I've found that instead of waiting for the unconnect and making my way the the climate screen, the fastest way to get the cabin cold is to just turn the dial all the way up (actual max AC) and then adjust the temp down to low, or really just any temp colder than 75. It's more than 1 button...
