Most things in society have gone to a subscription service to generate recurring revenue…and most are not worth having.
if my Jeep is stollen, I don’t want it back because of all the damage that will likely be done by the thief…I’ll just start over with a new one…
We just finished most of the Northern California BDR, and I start at 13 pounds in my MT AT 37” tires, and they warm up to 15 pounds.
the Northern California BDR has A LOT of pavement…way too much for us, which is why we didn’t do every mile…so I drove about 50% of the time on pavement at normal...
For over a decade, I have used a DIY solution using Harbor Freight LED lights that are super bright offroad. Here is a link to my post in another thread...
Fins and Things is usually our first trail when we arrive at Moab each year. Easy trail that get the rock crawling cobwebs out. My Spousal Unit doesn’t like the last little section on the big Fins, so we head to the main road and skip that last little section.
Another vote for the AEV Dual Sport lift, but I went with the 2.5” system instead of the 3”. I wanted to keep the stock rims without spacers, which meant most of the lifts wouldn’t work because of the shape of the front lower control arms. I also added a 1” spacer up front to level out the...
Did you get a chance to check out the new state park where rapter used to be? I tent camped there when I did the Utah BDR in June, and they’ve done a nice job on the development…even flush toilets…a pleasant site when you are moto camping for 8 days over 1100 miles…
Or just build your own and save some money. I just used a piece of 1/4” aluminum and shaped like the insert, then drilled a few holes and attached the mounts. The mounts were for the windshield, so just removed the suction cup and adapted to my new aluminum pieces…
I wasn’t even winching myself, I was pulling a broken jeep up a snowy hill and needed to attach my Jeep to an anchor point to keep from being pulled down the hill. Once I was anchored, I pulled all my winch line, attached another winch line and a 30’ strap to get to the broken jeep.
that...
I usually spend 3-4 weeks in Moab every year, so I know the trails well and have wheeled almost all of them.
While I have never used any of the winch points, Moab trails don’t have a lot of options without the winch points if winching is required.
In the end, no one “requires” that someone...
I miss the days of brass and copper radiators when you could just fix them yourself. My 47 truck conversion has a brass and copper radiator from a 65 Mustang with the motor swap to a v6, and it developed a little leak on a tank seam. 10 minutes with a small torch and solder and it was back in...
My wife always gets a smile when she gets a duck on her little 2 door Rubicon, so I bought her some to give out to others since she likes that sort of thing.
I just give the ducks I get to her for regifting…
If you are going to get to the dirt, you might end up getting it stuck somewhere, likely high centered because of the length of the Gladiator. Harbor Freight winches are so cheap that it should be on your list as well. A winch is like the smoke detector in your house, you hope it never goes...
