  1. SNOW and ICE tires

IMHO, Unless a Gladiator is used strictly on road, tires are a compromise between on road and off road activities. For example, in deep sand, I don’t want to “break through” the top of the sand with a narrow tire, rather I want the flotation of a wider tire…same for mud and deep snow…flotation...
  2. SNOW and ICE tires

If we leave late for our winter trip, the dirt road to our place can turn into 4 inches of ice. I have used the Baja Boss 37” tires for years and I have pulled SVUs (including Jeeps) off the edge of our hill in the ice. my Baja Boss tires will start from a dead start on the hill and crawl up...
  3. Purchase advice on rear tailgate tire carrier

I’m running 37” tires, but I wanted to carry my dirt bike in the bed as well as use the bed for tent camping. As a result, I elected not to look at the a spare tire on the rear bumper since it limited the utility of the bed. I had to use a Clayton rear track bar to clear the 37” spare tire...
  4. Rock-Trac Full-Time 4x4 System?

I went a different direction, as I didn’t want the auto transfer case since I want to use my rig for rock crawling. I just didn’t need another failure point in the transfer case.
  5. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

I also added a couple of small washers to the steering stops to keep from rubbing, but I have t noticed any issue with turning radius.
  6. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

Agree on the front adjustable track bar with the AEV dual sport lift. I also added terriflex 1 inch spacers in the front to level the front with the winch and steel bumper.
  7. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

IMHO, being able to self recover is more important that the skids. I installed almost everything before I installed the skids last week. the only trail I ran in my 2014 JK that required skids was the Rubicon trail…
  8. Nitto 38 13.5 off road psi question

We spend a few weeks in Moab every year in the winter, and with my 37” Baja Boss tires, I air down to 11 pounds for the first trail and I don’t air up until we are ready to head to our new location. Trails, asphalt, dirt… I never air up until I leave. no bead locks on stock rims. I also have...
  9. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

Not a big project, but installed skid plates. Simple job with a lift that has air jacks to hold up the skid plates while I install bolts. Not sure I needed the transfer case skid since it just bolts to the factory skid, but it was cheap. tomorrow I’m going to measure the factory toe setting...
  10. Is the Mopar 2 inch lift actually bad?

When using other than OEM control arms up front, you might be required to change wheels to move the tire out so they clear the new lower control arms when turning. i wanted to keep my stock wheels, which is why I kept the stock control arms and went with the AEV 2.5 lift.
  11. Is the Mopar 2 inch lift actually bad?

AEV 2.5 Dualsport lift is only $1809. Installation is pretty easy and is a good lift system with front geometry correction brackets to keep the front end happy.
  12. Steering Wobble Paranoia

I’ve posted on other threads that when my JK steering started to feel a little “loose”, I replaced all the ball joints, both hubs, track bar, tie rod and drag link. I have a well equipped shop so do all the work myself, and cost has been less than $800. I suspect this will be similar cost for...
  13. What did you do WITH your Gladiator today?

When we camp in the Jeep, I have two 120volt LED lights plugged into a remote control switch that is plugged into the Bluetti power unit, as I can’t get to the switches inside the Jeep when we are in the truck bed tent. Lights at night make my spousal into a happy girl…
  14. What did you do WITH your Gladiator today?

It’s always nice to see what’s going bump in the night while camping. Since we boondock a lot, I have four 3” LED light pods under the motorhome that point out to each side. Not much getting into the motorhome, but it’s nice to know if there is an intruder of some kind since we’ve had bears...
  15. Mojave should come with 4.56 gears 4.10s dont cut it

I had thought the motor and AT were the same for all years of Gladiators, but there certainly seems to be disparate experiences with the same gear ratio and tire size. So, is the motor and AT the same for all years? This might explain the differenc
  16. Found vehicle at distant dealer - better to DX to local?

I bought three jeeps from the same dealer and sales person over a 15 year period, and sent two people there for Jeep purchases, so enjoyed a good relationship. The dealership was sold to a conglomerate, and When I had a warranty claim, the dealership was not my advocate, and I had to fight...
  17. Mojave should come with 4.56 gears 4.10s dont cut it

The only reason I respond on these gearing threads is because there are a lot of folks who look at these forums to help them decide on a direction for modification. IMHO, threads like these can result in folks with limited experience spending money unnecessarily. as I’ve noted elsewhere, for...
  18. Mojave should come with 4.56 gears 4.10s dont cut it

2024 Rubicon, 4.10, 37’s, 2.5” lift. My rig can hold 80mph easily in varied terrain in the Pacific NW with overland camping gear in the bed. I don’t recall ever looking at which gear my transmission was in…I just left the engine/transmission do its thing and enjoy driving my rig…and get 16.5...
  19. Found vehicle at distant dealer - better to DX to local?

I would think the dealer with the 2024 would be happy to see it gone from their lot, but not sure you will get the same great deal from your local dealer. It’s worth talking to your local dealer and seeing if they are interested. If not, time for a 600 mile round trip to get a new rig. on a...
