  1. Auxiliary Battery Delete Poll

Best thing you can do to your Wrangler. When my auxiliary failed The jeep would not start. On the third attempt every thing went black and it fried my 8.4 radio. Non reparable New main battery $200 and used 8.4 radio $750. You can do it now or wait until you have a problem like mine.
  2. I'm getting what sounds like detonation between 1 and 2 shifts

Install a UPR Oil catch can and I bet it will be gone. It solved my detonation. 100% With the UPR you can leave all the original hoses in place and if you have to take it to the dealer simply remove the can and re-hook up the factory set up.
  3. Hmm, this is an interesting solution. No More Dry Starts

I agree. No more rattle rattle on both my Wranglers. And as far as the cost. Its a drop in the bucket compared to the 30to 40k in mods I have done to my Willys.
  4. Hmm, this is an interesting solution. No More Dry Starts

Simple test. Let your jeep set over night and remove the oil filter. You will find NO oil in the filter housing and the filter doesn't even have oil dripping from it. ALL the oil has drained out of the filter and oil cooler housing back to the pan. All that air in the filter housing now has to...
  5. Hmm, this is an interesting solution. No More Dry Starts

Than I assume that all modification or improvements to all cars / trucks / jeeps is a wast of time and not necessary. I assume that the engineers got it all right the fist time like the Boeing 737. It is nice to live in a world that every thing is perfect.
  6. Hmm, this is an interesting solution. No More Dry Starts

I also have the Baxter and love it. No more bone chilling rattle rattle on startups. Both my 3.6 Wranglers have the slit tick more so when not fully warmed up. I am keeping my fingers crossed that there is not a upcoming problem. Two other things I have done to try to help out the cam is...
  7. I'm getting what sounds like detonation between 1 and 2 shifts

Had the same problem on my 3.6. and like you said it is loud. The first time I heard it was pulling a off road hill in 4L at altitude with 91 octane. I could not believe what I was hearing considering the altitude with 91 octane. After some research I had read that the blow-by from the PCV...
  8. Lets talk about beadlock wheels

I keep a small torque wrench in the jeep with a socket on it making it simple and easy to check torque at any time https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C8MVHQ47/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
  9. Brake Issue?

Sorry. Not true. I am not the first to have this problem.
  10. Brake Issue?

I did not think so ether until I saw this video. Put it did. After my jeep went into anti slip and my ABS came on I had air trapped in the ABS system and the only way I could get the air out was with an ABS bleed.
  11. Coolant overheating while towing?

Most cars and trucks run between 185 to 200. My 2020 f250 on a 100 degree day will hit 200 and I have only seen it hit 212 pulling my trailer with my 6200lb jeep on it. My Willys and Rubicon used to hit 231 to 235 with no load on a 90 degree day and for me that's to hot. Here is the way the 3.6...
  12. Brake Issue?

That's kinda How I got the air in the system. I was out wheeling for the first time in my new Willys and it went into traction control meaning the ABS was locking one wheel so the other would get traction. After watching the video however very skeptical that any brakes system would induce air...
  13. Brake Issue?

I had the same problem and the dealer told me it was normal. I told them it is not normal and as I walked out I told them I will fix it my self. There was air trapped in the ABS system and a normal bleed would not remove the air. After and ABS bleed back to normal and the brakes work great...
  14. Coolant overheating while towing?

If you want to see lower coolant and oil temps in the range of most cars and trucks install the RPM Extreme JL fan controller. My average temps are 188 to 195 and the highest temp I have seen is 212 pulling a 4000ft to 8000ft mountain pass fully loaded with gear at about 6800lbs on 37 tires. I...
  15. Are Vented Hoods a Good Idea?

On a JL you will find a twisted par in the factory loom and a twisted par in the RPM loom That's easy. The black ground is also easy. it is the lager black green in the factory loom. The tan white factory to brown RPM loom is the hardest to find and get to. The brown vilot factory the only one...
  16. Are Vented Hoods a Good Idea?

What engine do you have. This is the first time I have heard of a top mount ECU.
  17. Are Vented Hoods a Good Idea?

One more thing. A few years ago I read about someone testing with and without vents on a jeep. His conclusion was there was very little to no difference in under hood temps. Basted on his finding I decided not to do venting.
  18. Are Vented Hoods a Good Idea?

    woops
  19. Are Vented Hoods a Good Idea?

Are you looking at the idiot gauge on the dash cluster on the the real coolant temps in the off road page on the radio. The graph on the dash cluster will not move between 188 to 235+ degrees.
  20. Are Vented Hoods a Good Idea?

You are 100% correct. I am highly modified and weigh in at 6400lb with 37 tires and that's with out vacation luggage. I worked for 6 months trying to get control of the cooling system and reduce my high 235+ coolant temps. The thermostat starts to open at 190 and is fully opened at about 212...
