You are right. Some dual rate spring are collapsed on the top leaving 2/3 of the spring working under normal condition. That's the problem I had with the medal cloak springs and why I removed them after a week.

One more thing. I also replaced the PCV valve with the updated one and checked to see if the can collected less oil. No difference. Before and after the new valve the amount of oil collected was the same.
