Yup, Spidertrax. Iāve used them with success on a JK and have them on my 1947. Never had a failureā¦
For my new Gladiator, I am using the stock wheels with my 37ās. Adjusted the steering stops so no rubbing, but if I get rubbing, will buy spacers before new wheels, as I like the stock wheels.
To install the larger spare tire in the rear, you will also need to remove the exhaust shield. Not sure why itās even on the rig, as the exhaust isnāt very close to the tire, but it had to go to fit my 37 Baja Boss tire. Might be able to bend it to fit the tire, but I just took it off to make...
I have posted in other threads that I have installed a lot of lifts over the years, including building my own 3-link/4-link systems from scratch on prior jeeps. The last two lifts I installed were Rock Krawler, one of which was a 4 link on a Gladiator, so I have a lot of experience with lifting...
I love that color!!! Unfortunately, we live pretty remote in the mountains, so lots of dirt road getting up to our property. As a result, we stay with white jeeps after having a black 2009 that always looked dirty.
5 ton bottle jack with a 1/2 piece of DOM tubing welded to the top to cradle the axle while jacking. With the DOM tubing, you can get away with a pretty unstable base built out of rocks to get the tire off the ground far enough to change itā¦although not preferred to change on an unstable...
The reality is that most folks are not going to use a winch very often, so itās OK to buy a lower priced winch if budget is a consideration, something like the Badlands Apex 12S. I have a Warn Zeon 12S on my Adventure Motorhome and have the same winch on the way for my Gladiator, but these are...
Iām not a fan of the BFG tires anymore if you are going to do any kind of serious rock crawling without bead lock wheels. BFG was all I used until I did the Rubicon Trail with them. The sidewall would flex so much that it would cause the bead to twist and lose air. i kept hearing the air...
Well, that is great information. My gladiator is sitting on the rack in the shop waiting for the shocks for the lift kit that were left on the FedEx truck last friday, so looks like I have a project tomorrow while I wait for FedEx to complete the delivery of the lift kit partsā¦
Agree, so hope someone chimes in with experience, as i have been considering a mat even though I have spray in bed liner. I will be taking my dirt bike in the Gladiator, along with a loading ramp, so concerned the bed will get all scratched upā¦
Noted on the AWD version, so looks like might be a good option for some folks.
We live pretty remote in the mountains, so we get a fair amount of snow before we leave for the winter after Christmas with the grandkids. When we get a bad storm, only the jeeps in our family can get up to our...
My wife of 45 years is the exact opposite. We were on our winter trip in the south this year, and noticed all the great prices on new Jeeps. I researched and found Gladiators going for 30%+ off sticker. Since I am retiring in a few weeks, my JK has 150,000 miles and the JK doesnāt really like...
Iāve seen this comment about the V6, and donāt understand the perspective. I have 150,000 miles on my JK running with 37 Baja Boss tires, and Iām still running the 4.10 gears. I occasionally tow my car trailer, and unless someone is towing a trailer frequently, I think the V6 works fine. If...
I have installed a lot of lifts on different jeeps, including using the King Shocks, but for a daily driver, those king shocks are overkill, and a lot of the price of that kit are the king shocks. I have also used 5100 Bilstein and Fox shocks, and the 5100s work just fine for a DD as well as...
On my 2014 JK, I have adjusted my steering gear box a number of times to get the slop out of the box. Not sure why the newer Jeep boxes seem to have more wear than the old Saginaw boxes I have used on builds for decades. Some folks say adjusting a box is tabooā¦Iām OK with them buying a new box...
Our property is several miles down a county dirt roadā¦which is not maintained consistent with the tax revenue from our area. I run 20-25 pounds in all of our tires, big 37s and stock on my wifeās JL 2 door, just to get a smooth ride over the bumps. Yes, wears out tires faster, but worth the...
Iām not sure how I feel about this assertion, but itās been around for a while, and I can see the logic. With that said, I installed 5.38 gears in my sonās Gladiator (his choice) to help with towing his small travel trailer, so I am curious to see how these hold up for the long term. He is...
