Well I’m not saying it isn’t sturdy. Just that the metal is thinner than most “good” bumpers and I don’t understand making a metal bumper only to put plastic cones on the front.
The stock metal bumper isn’t worth it IMO. Even used its 400-500 and you still have to buy a 200 dollar winch plate and deal with plastic caps on the front and thin metal.
See how your sway bar appears very level? Even appears to already be pulling on the link. I’m assuming your vehicle is level here - which means they need to be adjusted upward for proper flex motion. Like this random pic I found.
35s are 35s with out without larger wheels. So that makes no difference.
That said...Overlands do not have the the Rubicon Highline Fenders...so while you're perfectly fine adding 35s stock...for driving. Wheeling you'll feel some rub. on the bottom of the fenders at flex.
For 35s not at all. Some 37s might touch the back of the front control arms when turning...nothing major. Can leave it or add spacers. But for 35s...nope. JTR's are built, literally, to accept 35s stock from the factory.
Mine...37x12.5x17, stock wheels. Stock wheels are fine.
Wheel spacers mean zip when it comes to a lift. They come into play when turning and its not needed. With 35s you don't need a lift unless you want one...so any size lift works. After that its budget and application.
It would suck, altho building a platform would be easy enough. Just fold the backseat down and build a ledge to finish off the space to the back of the front seat.
Altho i'd sooner get a bad tent or an RTT before cramming myself into the backseat.
Didn’t take my Gladiator on this trip (I took the black JKUR) but my buddies Gladiators is legit AF for overland.
Just a little beach cleanup weekend here in TX.
I sleep in my cab. Don’t have a rack and tent for the JT yet.
Boat and bouy washed up.
The MOPAR bumper isn't worth it.
Its 900 dollars to upgrade...you can get a great bumper for less than that...with thicker steel.
Also, it doesn't come with a winch plate...thats 200 bucks more. Now you're 1100 into this thing.
And the cones on the front of the steel bumper are friggin...
Before the snow was laid down we got a bunch of ice underneath it, then it slightly melted and froze again. I prefer to drive in my wrangler that in my truck because the wrangler is a smaller wheel base.
