General rule of thumb is 9.3:1 and below for 87. Jeep got this one wrong. Which is why the new 3.6s ping so much.
The engine should be 93. It’s compression is well over the threshold and it’s well known that it pings since they upped the compression on it. I run 93 like it should have been.
That was my original point tho. Its a 900 upgrade from Jeep and you still need a 200 dollar winch plate. 1100 bucks buys a pretty bad ass aftermarket bumper and you'll have money left over to start on the winch buy without any plastic on it. And the steel isn't all that thick, albeit it is...

The entire point of steel is generally because you’re going to be bumping into things. Having plastic cone on the front seems counterproductive to that logic is all.
