If you're going to do seat covers check out the Wet Okole neoprene ones. More expensive than the Diver Down one's but after having both, I prefer the Wet Okole. Also like that I can customize them and add things like heated seats, bolsters for the passenger, etc.
I try to wash it every week, except for when the weather is going to be bad here in Houston. Also clay bar and apply Griots 3 in 1 ceramic once a year. Still looks pretty good for being almost 4 years old.
Careful about lumping all those 70 year olds together! Not all of us are cranky and worry what anyone else thinks. Life's to short to worry about all this stuff. But some of the posts have made me laugh at least.

I live in Houston, and my warranty issue had to do with the pulls breaking. I treat it once a quarter and it keep the vinyl looking really good. Not quite sure what the difference in temp would be from Houston to where you live.
I've had the Bak 4Xs roll up going on 3 years and it's been a great cover. So much so, my son bought one for his Ram 1500. I like that when I roll it up, it doesn't block my rearview nor take up a ton of bed space. The other thing I like is how they took care of me on a warranty issue.
I did the Teraflex 1.5" leveling kit and about 6 months later replaced my shocks with a set of Bilstein 5100 shocks. Definitely rides firmer, but it also drives better.
It seems the only thing they would protect you from are door dings. I have a really bad one on my passenger side that would have been prevented. My only thing is that I agree that they are not very attractive.
So, I got further clarification of how they came up with their numbers. In order to fully drain the transmission and put in new fluid, they have to drop the pan. Since the pan is single use only per the advisor, I have to replace the pan. Hence the numbers they came up with.
