Have an appointment for 9/21. Will try to get a code readout before than. Question - is it safe to drive with this CEL light 400 miles? I am in the OBX, the truck seems to be running ok, no hesitation, no stumbling.
Ohh man, while vacationing in the OBX, my check engine light went on. hoping it’s not misfiring, will be calling dealer about this and steering service bulletin. 2100 on the odometer.
I can tell you that I tried all three, and settled on Fox 2.0 performance set. I felt that was the best setup for what I was looking for, which is road handling, no bounciness, etc. Fox 2.0 is how rubicon should have come from the factory!
Falcons were solid quality shocks. However, little too...
I think what you attempted to message is don't buy cheap parts for 50k truck. So I agree with that. But $99 part doesn't mean its cheap. Ultimately it depends on what you are looking for. AEV describes their 2" spacer kit as following:
Why would I want a spacer lift over a full suspension...
TF 1.5 front and Daystar .75 rear. No sway bar link changes. I don't think you need them with these spacers. If you go to two inch, at that point I would get AEV spacer kit that comes with end links and shock extensions.
I have rubicon, and it rides fairly well stock. I have an issue with stock shocks. Replaced those with fox 2.0. It does need lift, but not as much as you think..
Here is my total expenditure on suspension thus far:
1. Fox 2.0 0-1.5 travel shocks - $540
2. Teraflex 1.5 inch leveling kit - $99...
So I ended up with fox 2.0 shocks all around. They are 0-1.5 inch set and shocks surplus had an awesome discount. Falcons adjustable would be awesome, but not in budget for now. Perhaps later.
2.0 ride is little firmer, and no more bounce in the rear. This was my biggest complaint with this...
Just finished install with 1.5 inch leveling kit in the front and 3/4 inch Daystar spacer in the back. The stance is perfect now with 35 inch tires, exactly what I was looking for.
In terms of ride quality. The ride is very similar with Fox 2.0, only slightly firmer. But the bounciness in the...
i Know this is an old thread.. so if I am reading this correctly stock Rubicon and mopar lift shocks are very close if not identical in nature, With lift shocks being slightly longer though.. fox 2.0 probably firmer and more planted feel. I am swamping our stock Rubicon shocks for stock height...
Hey guys,
Don't know what my long-term plan is, still trying to figure that out. Mopar 2 inch kit is one option, metalcloak, or rubicon express 2.5.
Short-term, I want to upgrade stock rubicon shocks. They are little too soft for my taste. I tried Falcons monotube, they were firm. I am...
these are the shocks I installed, and although the rears are perfect, the fronts are a bit too stiff at slow speed. I hate rubicon rear shocks, they are horrible.
Falcons are solid quality shocks. I will most likely get adjustable ones to dial in my preference. I listed the monotube for sale...
