I'm at 15k and had a sun visor break off (repaired under warranty) and a transmission that occasionally only guesses what gear it should be in. But it's only occasionally, so I live with it.

I just got that yesterday. It popped up in tiny text under the "browse" button of the media player for about 10 seconds. I haven't found anything about what that was for either.
I wear gloves at the pump, because people are icky, and I've had a fuel hose/nozzle puke gas on me too many times.
So, no, I've never had an issue with this.
Mine are the same, so it's probably normal. The gap at the bottom (where the nut is) looks like there is some sort of spacer, it is wider than the top shaft. That might be what is holding the washer away from the knuckle.

I guess a fuel leak and customer concerns are not important enough for a reply.
BTW.. paint still looks ok, and the gas smell is finally gone from the interior.
I used to detail small aircraft, and I used a mix of soap and AVGAS to clean them. It was the only thing that worked that was available to me. (Thanks boss!)
