Max tow with front rubi-coils + a 1.5” spacer and rubi-fox shocks. 35x12.50 bfg MTs on rubi-stock wheels. No wheel spacers, no rubbing, looks and drives great. 3” lift above stock max tow ride height in the front, 0.5” lift in rear with just upgrading the shocks!
Great 6” step/ rails for kids to climb in and to avoid parking lot dings. I liked them because you don’t loose any clearance and deflected gravel and branches. Paid $500 looking for $300 and will deliver or meet up in Bay Area, Sac or Central Valley...
Towed the trailer up to Yosemite for the weekend. Park was reservation only so a rare uncrowded weekend! Beautiful weather, fresh air (finally!) and lots of Black bear cubs running around!
Installed a Reese hitch bike rack and went for a ride with my girls around the O’Neil Fore-bay. Apparently Reese hitch 4-bike racks are designed for 4 dudes to go bro-cycling! Had to flip the girls bikes upside down and the weight distribution isn’t ideal but it worked. Added a ratchet strap to...
My weight distribution hitch has a anti sway brake bar that I crank down snug to mitigate cross wind shear. I also move cargo weight around so that both your truck and trailer are level. If you are tongue high pack more heavy stuff in the front of your trailer. We’ve towed our similar weight...
Took the fam up to Yosemite In search of better air quality. Didn’t realize how much they would enjoy splashing around in the river. Time to invest in some fly fishing gear!
Towed the trailer over to the coast with the German Shepards. Wife drove the FJ with the kiddo and the lab and my parents showed up with their yorkypoo and parakeet. Central california will be 110 for the next 10 days so planning to spend as much time on the beach as possible!
Towed the trailer for a boondocking overnighter up to a horse and dog rescue ranch just outside Sequoia National Monument yesterday. Was a little sketchy navigating narrow firebreaks, trees and rocks pulling the trailer. Considering a lift, beefier axel and bigger tires for the trailer. Anyone...
Wired 3 20 Watt panels in parallel with quick disconnects to a solar regulator connected to some large charging clips. The though bring you can move the panels around to keep them in direct sunlight. Good for trail and trailer camping camping, storing anything with a battery, but also if the...
Pulled our trailer up to Boulder Creek to camp in the Coastal Redwoods this weekend. Also spent the day at the beach on the way home. The Tonneau cover works great over the XL dog crate! Keeps the dogs dry from the dew and out of the sun.
Not a rubicon, sport S max tow with only a 1.5” front spacer, sway bar connected, however this was in 4WD low. Appears that Dan was in 2WD for his first test without the sway bar disconnected since he shifted into 4L before pushing the magic button. I have a magic wrench I take with me if I ever...
Update! Pulled the skyjacker dual stabilizer kit and swaped the stock dampener for a Fox Racing Shox 2.0 Performance Series IFP. Larger diameter than stock. Felt like stock after a quick ride but will report back after the next windy day on the highway.
