There are 2 Gladiators in the parking lot I use at work. There are 3 parking lots, so I expect there may be more. One is a Sport and 1 is a Rubi. There are a couple others I routinely see on my commute and about town. I don't think that means anything, really. It's a new vehicle and hasn't...
Sorry, that's too far into conspiracy theory territory for me. I think it's just the vast majority of north American drivers don't want to dick around with constant manual gearshifting when an auto is more convenient.
Ok, maybe I'm an outlier, but I'm focused on the North American market. Let's be realistic, you can't easily import most cars to the US because of regulations, so what's selling well in Indochina is mostly irrelevant.
I'll be surprised if MTs are kept as an option going forward, especially once the diesel option lands (auto only).
Manuals are on their way out across the industry anyway. I read recentkyvthey account for <5% of new vehicles.
This year, Alabama increased the "flat fee" they charge when you pay for your tags on hybrid and electric vehicles. It's to offset the fact you don't pay as much in gas taxes.
Since the JT is based on the Wrangler and the Wrangler is designed around the basic size of a V6, "additional engineering" won't be enough. What people are talking about with a V8 is a whole different platform altogether.
I wouldn't lease a vehicle. I wouldn't roll that much debt over to a new vehicle. I'd wait until I was in a better financial position.
You're better off waiting a bit, improving your credit score, private selling your mini, and buying a 1 or 2 year used Gladiator.
I hate to tell you "don't...
I see them out and about. There are 2 in the parking lot of my building. One is a White Rubicon and the other is a lifted sting-gray (granted, there are about 2000 people working in my building). I've seen others driving around. I think a lot of it comes down to that MSRP and options sitting...
Looking online at the JTs sitting on dealer lots in my area and I can tell you that most of them include garbage option choices. These are trucks without any of the "truck" options included. Advanced Safety Package, but no Trailer Tow or Bedliner? No thanks.
Last time i bought a vehicle outside Alabama, i paid 4% state taxes and 1.5% for my county. I don't think you pay the city of local sales tax unless you buy (or take delivery) in that city. Last time I looked at AL sales taxes, no where in the state had over 9% state + county.
