I built a JKUR for rock crawling, but over the years I've done less and less of that and more overland style trips. When I get my JT (I'm waiting to see what the final specs are on the diesel before purchasing) I will be building it as a dedicated overlander. As such, something along the lines...
Thanks for the towing info. I'm still holding out for the diesel to see what kind of fuel range it gets along with (hopefully) better towing here in the CO mountains.
That's a pretty sweet logo you created. I'm waiting for the diesel option, so I'm not going to commit to badges just yet. But seeing how they may not be around still when I get my Gladiator, would you mind if I used the logo to make my own set of custom badges when the time comes? I'd want...
Anyone know what size tires are on the Mopar Edition in the first post? I thought I saw this posted someplace, but I can't find it now and I can't make out the size in the photos either. Thanks.
The front half looks good and so does the back half. They just don't look like they belong together. I do like the jerry can tie downs though. I wonder if those were custom made or a production part someplace.
I might actually suggest you get the Overland. You say you do not like the looks/feel of the Rubicon interior parts. Those are much harder to change after the fact vs. adding some exterior mods later on. How long do you plan on owning it? Long enough to burn through the dealership tires? It...
Thanks. The trailer is a Jeep tub, but not mine. I "rented" it from a fellow overlander in my local area to use for this trip. The trip was my dad, my self and my son in Death valley. My dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, so I planned that trip for the 3 of us to spend some time together...
It is my opinion that most of us are reading too much into what he said. I work with Italian company executives in one of my businesses. The way the word things is a bit odd and does not always get their true meaning across. I interpret what he said as the JT will not compete with the entry...
That is my line of thought as well. The average truck consumer is not going to care if it is a Jeep. Being a Jeep could very well be a bad thing to many (though I think the newer Jeeps are pretty well made and do not suffer more issues than other trucks if you leave them stock... but that does...
I'll have to do some research on the sales of each trim level, but I think the mass majority of Wrangler sales were of the Sport S and Sahara trims. And those mostly fall in the $40k range (not county taxes and fees since those very by location). I did get a Sahara up to just over $51k...
That is where I am at as well. I could afford a JT in the $60s, but I'm not going to pay that because the value is not there. There are other trucks out there that are almost as good off road as the JT will be, but for $15k-$20k less. There are a lot of people that would find it a much better...
